Re: oxaliplatin side effects - 9 years after treatment

Also, the doctors all act like it shouldn't be going on but with all of us that have this crap t...

Re: Reversal one month ago, have a concern

It could be what you are eating. I am over a year out and I noticed a long time ago that what I eat or drink now always changes the color of my stool. However that being said it's always best to consult your doctor.

Re: How to decide when to give up working???

What I'm not understanding is it better for me to go ahead and file for SSDI or use my long and short term disability? I believe you should do both... Go ahead and sign up for your short term disability and apply for SSDI. If I am correct you can earn like $1040 per month and still qualify for SSDI...

Re: Hidden Tumor??

That seriously makes me so mad at my insurance to know that there is a REAL possibility a hidden tumor is causing this... No wonder my radiation oncologist seemed so worried.

Hidden Tumor??

A couple of months ago I was dx with Hydroureternephrosis and have to have a stent in my ureter all the time. They originally tried a temporary stent placement but within hours of it being removed I was in unbearable pain. I am being told by my doctors that it is possibly a hidden tumor (because I h...

Re: Neuropathy

I take 60mg of Cymbalta once a day and 100mg of Lyrica 3 times a day in order to control the pain associated with the Neuropathy. If I don't take these every day the pain comes right back and it i so unbearable.

Horrible Cognitive Side Effects Due To 5fu???

Has anyone experienced a decline in cognitive function like I have? I currently can't even work due to the issues of concentration and the ability to function effectively in order to do my job. I came across these to publications that confirm that 5fu surpasses the blood barrier to the brain when I ...

Re: Takedown Wind and Urgency - Advice PLEASE

I will be 7 weeks out from my reversal on Wednesday and I promise you that it gets better, I was scared to death I would never be able to leave the house at first. I was going constantly and then at my follow up appt my surgeon advised me to start taking Imodium at least 3 times a day and more as ne...

Re: Is reversal after 6 weeks possible

My oncologist told me absolutely NOT before my 12 treatments post surgery chemo. She said if there were any small particle of cancer floating around in my body and I waited 6 weeks healing time post LAR and then another 6 weeks to heal from reversal surgery it would allow the cancer to metastasize a...

Re: Talking to Cancer Patients/Survivors - "You Inspire Me"

I think we should accept it as a genuine way a person feels even if they don't have cancer and say "you inspire me" for two reasons 1) we don't know what they may be fighting in their life and 2) because tomorrow they could be diagnosed with this terrible disease. So I just accept it and s...
