chemo sucks!

I was diagnosed with stage 3c and am 31 also, had surgery end of september and started chemo in novemeber. I would do surgery over this chemo crap any day. Lately the cold from the oxciliplatium is killing me, I live in NJ and it's freezing these past couple of weeks. I find that my nose hurts every...

Having trouble with 5FU

Hi all, I'm on my 6th treatment and gradually i'm having trouble with 5FU, hands are red and swollen and hurt so are my feet. My feet seem to be blistering and my hands just peel. I got bag balm and it helps with the feet but with my hands it's been hard to put it on all the time cause it's so messy...

Thanks for responding ASTEPHENS33!! Did you take Xeloda with Oxilplatin? or can you not take these two together? Did you find it hard keeping track of when to take your pills or did you miss any doses? Is Xeloda better than 5FU or do they do the same for the exception of the side effects? I heard th...

ERBITUX (Cetuximab) has anyone been on it?

Went for my first oncology visit today at U of Penn, the doc was great! He said that he could refer me to a oncologist closer to home (which I'll probably do) because he would put me on the standard folfox6 treatment unless I wanted to join the clinical trial they have going on right now at Penn whi...

ask for a colonoscopy

Hi Kat and welcome to Colon Talk! If I were you I would go for the colonoscopy and not even question yourself or question what people are going to think of you. From my experience I started to have stomach cramps last September and there was no rhyme or reason to it. I could eat bland foods and it w...

Thank you both for your helpful responses. How soon after surgery did you start to receive chemo? Did you see on oncologist before surgery, I’ve seen some post where people did receive chemo before surgery? My surgeon said he didn't want to refer me to anyone and get in the way of who my primary car...

first time

Hi all Went for my consultation and my first session at the acupuncturist. I thought it was great. He said that my energy in my body was very low and I don't doubt that because I'm having a hard time relaxing and taking it easy. Seems like during the day I get tired but I'm already on the go (on top...

Acupuncture, anyone tried it????

Couple of friends of mine truly believe in acupuncture and have suggested I do it along side of whatever treatment my doc gives. They have said that it balances your body and would help with cleaning out the toxins? I'm willing to do whatever I can to fight this disease! I had surgery last Monday an...
