Re: RAYM, how are you? - Still Around

I started writing an update this morning but got sidetracked. I've not been having the best of times. I am still working full-time and getting out when I can though it takes its toll. I have two billiary drains to deal with blocked bile ducts. I've also been fighting an ESBL E coli infection which I...

Update on me, not been a fun time

I've been avoiding the board for awhile. Last I updated I was receiving a biliary drain as my liver bile ducts were blocked by a enlarged lymph node (cancer). This was at the end of October. Soon after that procedure I spiked a high fever and was admitted to the hospital with an infection in my bloo...

Re: Billiary Drain Placed

You have a bulb or bag @ the end of the tube? They put you on Ursodiol to thin the bile? I know you were concerned about getting around with an external drain. Was wondering how you were doing with that. Bitchslapped For now I have a bag at the end of the drain. No meds have been prescribed at this...

Billiary Drain Placed

This past Tuesday I had a billiary drain placed as the liver bile duct was blocked and I was jaundiced. The procedure went as planned. I was under twilight anesthetic though I remember the local inject at the drain side as well as discomfort while the drain was inserted through my skin. This was don...

Re: Anything to help white blood cell count?

I was on neulasta for a bit. I never had bad side effects but one measure against them was to take a Claritin prior to the shot. This was part of the patient education papers given to me at the cancer center.

Re: Side Effects of Cancer Chemo/ treatments & Supportive Ca

I am the pharmaceutical side effect poster boy. Drugs chemo and non-chemo hit me hard and at times to the detriment of my immediate health.

Re: Best Night---- Forgot I had CC

I really like times like that when one can forget medical issues. We caught some music last night and it is a great diversion. (A queen tribute band and then to Howl at the Moon, a chain in the US with dueling pianos, sort of sing along, dance along place. This was near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore...

Re: Experiences with Liver biliary drain or stent?

Maybe you won't need the drain. That wouldn't be a simple Interventional Radiology procedure I think but don't know. Personally - I draw the line there. Stent me if needed but I have heard nothing good about of those drains. If external I'm hoping it's a short term solution with an internal stent e...

Experiences with Liver biliary drain or stent?

As I commented on another one of my posts, my liver numbers have been elevated. Latest CT scan shows an enlarged lymph node impeding on a bile duct. Next week I will be have a procedure to place a stent and/or drain. I'm assuming I will have an external drain. Anyone have any experience with this pr...

Re: Lastest lab work worries -Update not the news I wanted

It's always something with this damned disease. Hopefully the stent will alleviate the issue. Is there any reason they prefer that procedure to removing the offending lymph node? This procedure is what was recommended. I didn't have time to formulate questions last night but will discuss further on...

re: Lastest lab work worries -Update not the news I wanted

So the new I got today was not good. An enlarged lymph node is pressing on a bile duct and I need to have a stent placed to relieve that. I guess in some way my liver is still not impacted directly by cancer, but I am concerned about the long term in dealing with the lymph node. I was in the car whe...
