Re: Bev G

My condolences for her family and friends. I'm sorry to hear this and had just been re-reading a message from her to me in 2012 when I had my first colonoscopy and let her know it turned out clear. At that time, horizon (posted just above me) also sent me a helpful message ... thank you. Some other...

Re: Tips for a Folfox newbie – starting Tuesday

Thanks again to you all for the great advice and experiences. I was really struggling to imagine what the experience would be like for me. With one round under my belt and your experiences in my in-box, while I'm not taking anything for granted, I'm less daunted by a crippling fear of the unknown. ...

Re: Port removed

Initially, it seemed to be the only thing I thought about....it was always there, the worry, what if it comes back? However, with time it did get better. I remember thinking, wow, I haven't thought about cancer for a few hours...but I think that that was quite a few months after I finished treatmen...

Re: Port removed

I got ny port removed today. With my treatment over & my wonderful wife, family & friends celebrating me “ beating cancers ass” I feel I’m not celebrating as much as one should. I know how it acts, I know the statistics, my Dad died of cancer. With the follow up blood test, CT scans & c...

Re: T3cN2a, refusing chemotherapy?

Everyone has to come to their own decision that's right for them. For me I could not live with the regret if it came back and I hadn't thrown everything that I could at the cancer when I had the chance. I have no regrets about doing Oxi + Xeloda.

I want to scream this from the rooftops: bidets are awesome!

Look, I know this topic has been mentioned before, but if you're new here or are on the fence about getting a bidet I just want to say "DO IT". I am kicking myself thinking of all of the times that I've done colonoscopy preps and rubbed by butt raw (TMI?) when I could have just been gettin...

Re: Chances of a 8mm or 15mm Polyp being cancerous?

My suggestion....quit googling. There is nothing to be gained from it. The only definitive report will be the pathology report and you're just going to have to wait for results. If it isn't cancerous or even precancerous...hooray!!! If it is precancerous or even cancerous just be glad that it was c...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Hi all- Just wanted to know when this scananxiety will end!?! I’m so terrified - this scan is tomorrow and it feels like I’m newly diagnosed. I think of reoccurence and surgery and chemo and it makes me want to throw up! What do you do to keep yourself from thinking the worst? I feel fine but we al...

Re: What should I expect for port placement???

Ok so i had my port placed last Thursday and I was put out with general anesthesia as i requested. Overall yes the procedure went well. I am quite tender and uncomfortable on my right chest area and side though. I am told that will subside. I had my first treatment today and it was a long day but t...
