Ok so i had my port placed last Thursday and I was put out with general anesthesia as i requested. Overall yes the procedure went well. I am quite tender and uncomfortable on my right chest area and side though. I am told that will subside. I had my first treatment today and it was a long day but t...

Re: Colon cancer screening at 45 - New guidelines

Definitely a step in the right direction, but needs to be 30 or 35. What would really help is educating the doctors that it’s ok to send someone in their 20’s or 30’s to get a colonoscopy. I’ve read countless stories exactly like mine where we go to the doctor describing our symptoms and the doctor...

Re: New Member here needs support !

Jacqueline, it's completely normal to feel sad, angry, disbelief, etc. Take time to deal with the news. When I was first diagnosed I was in complete shock and felt like I was outside my body. I couldn't think. I couldn't sleep. I could hardly breath. These first few weeks are scary but you can do t...

Re: Tattoo during scope?

I had this done as well. Sigmoidoscopy after a recent colonoscopy was not fun. My surgeon said it would help him know exactly where the tumor was for the lapro surgery.

Re: Anyone doing xelox and xeloda. Please help

Please try to calm down and don't over analyze things. Look at this as just something you have to do. No, it's not fun but its not permanent either. It will be over at some point. Regardless of which protocol you choose, there are going to be days when it just stinks! You push through it....turn on...

Re: Fainted during prep

This has happened to me both times I’ve done the prep. They both happened at the same time too. I had taken the second does of Miralax around midnight, then went to sleep. I woke up a couple of hours later to go to the bathroom and then the fun started. On my first colonoscopy prep I got really lig...

Re: Fainted during prep

That had to be so scary for you. I hope he wasn't hurt too badly. I've come very close to fainting once during the prep. For me it was a really bad reaction to the dulcolax pills. I haven't had it happen again since refusing to take those.

Re: Just got real, y'all

I had read that some people could feel a discomfort or even a pain with the first few bites of something, right after that first part. Well, last time , I got the tiniest hint of it feeling different. This time, though, my teeth hurt! What? Open mouth, no prob. Close mouth, fine. But try to chew th...

Oooh! More of that cold sensitivity! Just had a sip of cold water coz hot flashes making me a crazy, reckless thang.!. Felt like tiny little ice crystals forming then melting along my lips, over my tongue. WEIRD sensation! Yep, it's really weird. I ended up microwaving drinking water before...
