Very nice! Man, you are so much more proactive than I was about learning about medication options available. Very impressive.

Re: New and nervous

Well guys...It didn't happen today. I had a very hard time with the prep...3 bottles of magnisium citrate....the 3rd one had me throwing up profusely. :( My colon wasn't clean enough even though I did everything asked of me. I am rescheduled for next week...next they will have me try a malax Gatora...

Re: Newly diagnosed stage 4 colon cancer at 42. Looking for hope and inspiration.

Thank you all. There is so much negativity on this subject. I just really need some positivity right now. I’m having a real hard time. These post are a gift to my soul. It's overwhelming at first. You'll find lots of people here who can empathize and understand what you're going through. I'm glad y...

Re: New and nervous

I was scared before my first colonoscopy. This video that Katie Couric did helped me immensely. I'd give her a hug if I had the chance!

Re: How to support my husband??

I tried my best to avoid statistics but I'll never forget one day reading a magazine early in my journey and I happened to see a chart with the survival rates of stage 3 patients. I almost threw up it upset me so badly and it haunted me for days. You have to remember that most CC patient are MUCH ol...

Re: Port Removed - 1.5 years later.

I was concerned about how I'd fair to be honest. I mean I used to be really squeamish with just a shot or blood draw, but after 1.5 years of treatment - figured I'd toughened up a bit. It wasn't bad. It did feel weird. I did have a mental sensation that he was cutting into me like a rough steak wit...

Re: Did you travel during treatment?

I hate that I'm being "that guy" but if it was me I wouldn't want to do it. If I started feeling bad I wouldn't want it to be when I'm thousands of miles from home. And with your compromised immune system you're being exposed to so many different variables in a foreign country (and a plane...

Re: To share my “ghost” story

You're not being selfish at all. Some people fade away, some keep posting regularly, and some (like me) are a mixture of both.

I'm glad things are still going well for you my dude!

Re: Quality of life on Folfox and others

I've gone through 7 cycles of FOLFOX with 4 more planned. The First Bite Syndrome is the worst side-effect so far. I have some cold sensitivity but it's not severe. I can drink cold liquids and take things out of the refrigerator bare-handed, but not from the freezer. My hands and feet feel a bit o...

Re: Quality of life on Folfox and others

You have to remember that everyone reacts differently. I did Xelox and I did start to have some neuropathy. I told my oncologist immediately and he reduced my Oxy infusions (it went away for me eventually). I was able to work (and work out at the gym) during the six months. I took of Wed for infusio...
