when I was diagnosed stage 4 I had four tumors in my liver and my cea was 2. scans are the only way to tell or a biopsy you can't rely on bloodwork.

just keep up on testing. mine was a similar situation but I turned out to be stage IV from a single colon poly the size of a pea. I showed spots on liver and had normal cea and was told don't worry a polyp would not cause stage IV well they were wrong it was and I am glad i kept up with follow up te...

you should look into proton therapy or radio frequency ablation for lung mets. proton therapy is a form of radiation but uses protons instead of xray beams and is supposedly more accurate with less chance of doing damage to surrounding areas. missjv

yes great news as I heard she was out on medical leave! glad she will be back I go back in June and hope to see her. although the doctor i saw that was covering for her was also great they have a good team! missjv

that is great!!! congratulations and no reason to think it will not last! look at all you have been through so far. i have been doing this now for ten years and yes i have had recurrances but mskcc is right on top of it like they will be right on top of yours! missjv

I think chemo is the normal route then see if any response. If surgery is not possible look into radio frequency ablation it is usually done outpatient with very few side effects or down time. missjv

I use herbs called bing de ling and an herb called yang zhen hua 851 you can google both of these things and that can explain them better then i can. studies have been done on both of these things they enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy especially 5fu based chemo. i have seen these online but...

i use organic lemons or if im in a hurry i use lemon juice mixed with lemon oil that i get at whole foods in the fridge section. i guess some of us are just prone to them and i was bad and did not use the strainer i was given so i don't know what kind of stones i even have. missjv

i have had lung things on my scans for 10 years now. some had been mets but others just sit there and don't grow. a lot of people if you pulled them off the street and did a scan of their lungs would have stuff on them. missjv

i think as i said before in my own experience eastern and western medicine used together can really help. if iv vitamin c in mexico cured cancer we would all be lined up trying to get in the door. i do chinese herbs and acupuncture since diagnosis in 2006 and in my mind i think it has really helped ...
