Re: 1 year

Wow, Angie, I can't believe it's been a year. You were such a blessing to your dad, and such a loving presence through his illness and the end of his life. I hope you'll always treasure the time you had with him, and always feel proud of everything you did for your parents while he was sick.

Re: 4 year stage IV cancerversary

Bev, I'm not usually one to think this way, but in your case I feel like the universe knew that you'd have something significant to give, and that lots of us needed you to stick around. And here you are. :) Your warmth and compassion have helped so many people here - you are a blessing for us. I'm n...

Ashlee, just adding more hugs and anger at this stupid cancer - hoping for a viable continuing treatment plan for you. You've hung in there for a long time with a lot of determination!

Re: For those following Steve's story

Dearest Bev: I'm not around here much these days, but I think of you often, and I'm deeply saddened to hear this news about Steve. I hope you can take some comfort in your own good test results, and I'll second CRGuy's wise advice to remember your own self-care. You are in my thoughts and my heart. ...

Re: Celebrating Terry

Hugs to you, Jaynee. I know how much Terry meant to you, and how much your updates during her last days meant to all of us. She was such a warm and loving presence here, and whenever she responded to my posts she was gracious and supportive. I miss her, too.

A strange-sounding question about your thumbs and toes

Hi everyone - I've been quite scarce here, though I do tend to check in and read to see how people are doing. I work hard not to let thoughts of cancer dominate my life, and after some rough times found that I was better off staying on the sidelines. Doesn't mean that I don't think about my friends ...

Re: On surgeon's advice, going to try the - gulp - daily ene

It must be fate - I haven't been to the board in months, and came back today to check in on how people were doing, and here's this thread! I'm almost 2 years post-surgery, and while things have improved, I still have more poop issues than I'd like. I'm so sorry that I took my rectum for granted befo...

Re: C-Section versus Resection?

I had less incisional pain after my rectal resection than after my C-section. As far as limited activity, same restrictions about not running up and down the stairs too much, and it was uncomfortable for me to walk for a while (though I did walk - slowly - every day). I was happy that I'd already ex...

Re: Lauren's journey is over

Janet, I've been away from the board for quite a while, and was deeply saddened to come back and see this. You and Lauren are in my heart. I'm so glad that your family was able to spend some time together as she approached the end of her beautiful young life.

Re: Psoriasis and cancer

I have some mild psoriasis - right now it's mostly affecting my eyelids (which is really nasty) and a couple of spots on my scalp. One of the very few benefits of my "cancer year" was that these skin problems completely disappeared during chemo. Now - I'd much rather be cancer-free and man...

Re: RIP Crabbymonty's (Eric) wife, Sheri :(

I hate this news. Hate it. I've been following Sheri's blog for a long time, and loving her stories about those beautiful babies and the joy that she found with them. All I can do is hold Eric, Reese and Eli in my thoughts and hope that their memories of their beautiful Sheri will live with them. Th...
