My name is Chet. I'm 33. Here's my story. Looking back, I had symptoms. Mainly, I was very tired a lot of the time, but I attributed this to job-related stress, life, etc. I also was having a lot more BMs, but didn't think much about it. One morning in the summer of 05, I felt a lump in my lower rig...

Hi Ann, I'm Chet. I discovered my colon cancer when I felt a lump in my lower left abdomen. I thought it was a hernia and went to my doctor and a CT Scan showed that it was a large tumor in my caecum. I would strongly suggest having a CT Scan. Also ask your doctors to do a CEA blood test, which is a...

Hi, I'm Chet. I had stage III and now it's recurred in my mesentary. Currently my onco has me on Folfiri and Avastin. Even though my tumor tests positive for EGFR (which are the types of tumors Vectibix targets), I can't get on this drug yet. It has only been approved by the FDA for people who don't...

I had stage IIIC and my onco told me that same thing -- that I didn't qualify for avastin. He also complained about its deleterious side effects, saying that it might harm my heart, etc., etc. Well, after 6 mos of folfox6, I had a recurrence after just 5 months. So I am wishing like hell that I had ...

Recurrence

Hi Everyone, especially Molly, Holly, Billie and Sue -- Sue already knows this. Anyway, I wrote in a while ago about my belly button. Holly was correct in prodding me to get it checked right away. It was not just a skin condition. It was a recurrence. I'm having a full CT Scan tomorrow. I have an ap...

hey everyone, i've had very similar problems since my surgery, but not quite as bad as some of your report. i started taking metamucil in the morning after breakfast and at night right after dinner and it has helped a TON. probably won't work for everyone and my problems were pretty minor, but anyth...

I ditto Terry's statment. This msg. board has helped me immeasurably. Half of the battle is the one you have to win inside your own head. I am still depressed. So I literally force myself to run every day. It makes me feel like a new person. That's my strategy. You do what you can do and feel good!!!

I'm happy happy happy to report that my 1st Ct Scan came back with nada. As my onco said, "you passed!" No inflamed lymphs or anything. I'm really happy about this. I had a Stage III tumor, which was aggressive (grade 4/4), so I was so worried. but now, for at least the next 2.5 months, I can rest e...

CT Scan Anxiety

Hi Everyone, I had my first post-chemo CT Scan Friday. I get the results tomorrow. I have barely slept a wink, and when I do sleep it's usually filled with dreams (nightmares) about meeting w/ my onco. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar feelings, like crawling out of your mind...
