Colondar 2014 question

Hey guys, It's been a while. Life, work, and medical appointments have kept me away but I plan on writing an update over the next few days and keeping around here a little more. Anyways I see that the applications are up for the 2014 Colondar and I was wondering if anyone knew if you have to be in t...

Re: yet another hospital...

I don't think they truly know what exactly caused this obstruction. The ones previously have been influenced by adhesions from when I had my collectomy. They did say that they were reasonably sure it wasn't a kink in my bowel, if things hadn't started to clear up on it's own they would have looked a...

yet another hospital...

Hey all, Life and work have gotten in the way and I haven't been around in a while, but now I'm stuck with nothing but time and I figured I'd update everyone and I plan on making sure I keep checking in even once I get back into the crazy world. So Friday night I started having an increase in nausea...

Re: Seeing the Thoracic Surgeon April 11 a.m. - need advice

Fantastic news!! That's the perfect way to start an appointment with a surgeon. Glad he agreed to keep the PET scan, as I'm sure it will put your mind at ease to get the chance to confirm his initial dx. Will send lots of positive energy your way for good results.

Re: Dad's update

Thanks for the update Angie :) Glad the oncologist didn't call yesterday. I know the waiting/wondering is always the hardest part. For me, the doc always tells me he'll have the pathology in four weeks, but as my aunt (I do enjoy having a doctor in the family  ) pointed out, they usually get i...

Re: A little bit of fun....

Julie, Great minds think alike. I actually immediately thought of the pink when I read CRguy's post :) I unfortunately haven't been able to find the "electric banana" colour here :( (which is too bad because yellow always shows up better on my dark hair, and I used to use yellow hair gel, ...

Re: A little bit of fun....

LOL CRguy :)

Easter pastels might actually be fun... but unfortunately pastels don't tend to be among the coloured hair gels ;) But I definitely plan on picking up another colour or two and having some fun with it :)

A little bit of fun....

Hi all, So I've been away for a while (seems like every time I turn around I have a mid-term... don't know when they stopped being one test per class in the middle of the term  ) but thought I'd drop in and catch up, and post a bit of fun while I'm at it. Two weeks from tomorrow I'm shaving my...

Re: Calling ALL Colorectal CANUCKS !

Hi Katrina, Welcome to the best club that no one wants to join  I do understand feeling over-whelmed. 3 weeks seems to be a normal length of time. I know with me, I met with my surgeon the first week of December, and his first opening for surgery was January 13th. He said colon cancer is slow ...

Re: March COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH LET'S PARTY!!

Wore blue yesterday for Dress In Blue Day. Even had some blue hair gel that I used to make my hair blue (unfortunately would have had a greater effect if my hair weren't so dark) Love your plan to post a fact/statistic about CRC every day on Facebook, may have to do that as well. Will be walking the...

Re: S#!% Cancer Patients Say

Thanks for posting this. I especially liked the "I know exactly how you feel" in the third video. Haven't yet heard it from cancer patients/survivors (with the ones I've met we've all commiserated on similar experiences, but not assumed we've gone through exactly the same thing) but have h...

Re: so my surgery date got moved back and no one told me

She said, "this surgeon is very good at what she does, but is newer to this hospital and I want to gently whisper to her that rescheduling to a later date for a newly diagnosed cancer patient is very traumatic." I LOVE this! Clearly a great GI :) And absolutely true. Glad she understands ...
