Still Kicking

Hi Friends, It has been a long time. I am now 11 1/2 years NED after Stage 4 Colon Cancer that went to my liver. I am a patient of Dr. Kemeny’s and I believe I am still here because of her expertise and the wonderful care I received from my family. Despite 5 blockages, numerous UTIs and a heart atta...

Re: To all HEPATIC pump users - Dr. Kemeny

I received my hai pump in November 2008. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be here without Dr. Kemeny and the pump. Statistically,if I remember correctly, the five year survival rate was 35% in 2008. Now I believe it is 78% at five years. The pump is proven, but the lives of the patients...

O/T Passwords

Hi Friends, In my previous post entitled "A Difficult Year" I told you of the passing of my daughter Kim, from liver failure from the overuse of Tylenol due to a previous head injury and lots of headaches. I learned a valuable lesson from this experience. We are having a hard time resolvin...

A Difficult Year

Kim was a doctor of physical therapy working with severely disabled children. She was at work on Wednesday and was gone on Sun...

Re: Doctor Bedside Manner Training

Dear Crazylife, I think I know who your doctor is. I am 8 1/2 years NED thanks to the surgeon and the oncologist's knowledge. I was told she did not have a good bedside manner, but I would rather have her, than one with a terrific bedside manner and bad results. My goal, from day 1, was to try to ma...

Re: Nice surprise! No more chemo!

Congratulations! Only Dr. K's patients can understand her look and how they can make us laugh! She is so unique. It takes a while to understand how to read her but I won't want any other Doctor as the "General" of my care. She also has been a great support in my husband's battle with pancr...

Re: Dr. Kemney Patients- I have a ???

Hi,
I am NED 8 years tomorrow. My schedule was every 3 months for 4 years. every 6 months for 2 years and every 6 months since. The only thing different is I did not have a CT scan for my last visit. Only one CT a year. Don't know after that. Good Luck ! You are in the best hands.

Re: My plan for my daughters future colonoscopy

My doctor wanted all my kids tested . My sons were and 21 and 31. My daughter was 26. We had no insurance problems. Perhaps it was the way it was coded. it gave us peace of mind and no what ifs. Talk to your doctor and explain your concerns.

Sloan on Monday

I will be at the 53rd Street facility Monday morning September 19th. Will anyone else be there? No CT scan for this 6 month visit, Dr. Kemeney started CT scans at every 3 month visit for 3 years, every 4 months for 2 years and every 6 months until now. She said just bloodwork for my 6 month checkup ...

Re: Total body swelling, lymphedema?

A friend of mine with colon cancer had total body swelling. It was from blood clots due to a reaction to her chemo. I am not saying this is the issue in your case but wanted to let you know of one possibility. Good luck and prayers your way.

Dr. Kemeny's Patients

Just have been wondering, how many of Dr. Kemeny's patients are on this website? I've talk to Trish about the Colon Club but they don't seem to know much about it. Hope to meet some of the Colon Clubbers at the office soon.

Re: Dr Kemeny and HAI pump...APPROVED

First of all, congratulations! Dr. Kemeny seems to scare a lot of other doctors. One of my friends oncologist asked me who was my doctor and I told her Dr. Kemeny and his response was "She's scary." I am here 7 1/2 years later because of her and Dr. D'Angelica and will be at my son's weddi...
