Re: Stage IV--Alive and without evidence of disease

Holly, You are such an inspiration! I still remember when I was so lost when my brother Dan was newly diagnosed with stage IV cc at 31 and I turned to the colon club for support. You were one of the first people to respond and that was back in 2005. Although sadly, Dan lost his battle in July 2008, ...

Re: Bile ducts

Hi Jen, This happened to my brother all the time! He had multiple stents put in, but I also had a very difficult time finding information about this. I put tons of posts on here about it, but they date back to 2007 and through the summer of 2008. I'm sure they are still on here somewhere! They will ...

Just also didn't want people to miss that Jeff's friend Laurel had stopped in to mention this as well.

REST IN PEACE Jeff- April 17, 2009

I just didn't want any of you to overlook this below. Jeff's friend Laurel posted this under one of Jeff's previous posts "following Brady's footstep's". I was afraid many of you might miss it. I know Jeff responded to many of my questions when I was looking for answers or information for ...

Rest in Peace Jeff. Thanks for letting us know Laurel. My heart is broken knowing that we have lost another member of our great family. What a great guy!

Re: chemo causing a fever???????????????????????/

I agree with NWgirl and Joy. Don't always assume it's chemo. My brother was also on oxi and would get fevers, but assuming this almost killed him. He did get bacterial infections and almost died because of them. It's hard not to pass every symptom off to chemo, because why wouldn't we? The chemo is ...

Re: Did we ever decide?........?.......Molly?

I was definately in favor of this when the topic came up way back when. I also really like the idea of the 5, 10 year and whatever else bench mark ideas people might have. Believe it or not, it will be a year on July 27, since my brother Dan has been gone. He would have turned 35 on May 16, coincide...

Re: Liver Mets

The way my brothers Oncologist presented it to him is to look at it the same way a diabetic has to look at their diagnosis. It's something they have to manage and work to keep under control. In some cases, there may be a possible cure, in some cases working to keep the cancer under control and manag...

Re: Erbitux Question?

Hello, My brother was on erbitux as part of his first line chemo treatments and his tumors actually responded very well to it. However, he decided to not go back on it because of all of the side effects of the drug. He had the rash over his entire body and it was pretty severe, to the point where it...

Re: Bradyr 1958 - 2009

Sharon, Although I have not written, I have watched the posts closely since Brady entered hospice care. It gets tougher and tougher to watch all of the great people we've become close to throughout the past few years succumb to this nasty disease. It's hard to find words, it's hard not to feel defla...

Re: Children at the funeral!!!

When my brother died last July, My sister in law opted not to take my niece (his daughter) and I opted not to take my two boys. At the time my niece was only 3 and my son turned 3 the day Dan died and my oldest was four. Our decision was on two parts. We felt that since they were so young, that it w...

Re: Drs have given up we have to sons.....

First and foremost, I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy to your family. My brother passed in July 2008 of colon cancer. I agree whole heartedly with everything WAMO said. I would only add one thing. You mentioned that your husband has ascites. My brother too developed this towards the end. If you ...

Re: Jeremiah Moore

I hate this so much. Everytime we lose someone else, it is like re-living my brothers death all over. Only 35, with two kids. You have got to be kidding me. I will never forget reading Jeremiah's posts about his illness and how candid he always was about it. We interacted a lot, especially last summ...
