Re: Walk/Run for Colon Cancer Awareness

Hi - We're getting there - the one month count down - we are a small group with a lot of passion :D
I'd love to go to West Palm for your Indy 5000- what is the date in January? I do have relatives there. How is your planning going? Do you have a big group?

Good News to Share

Hi Everyone, I don't post often but try to check in daily to the forum that was my true lifeline since being diagnosed in April 2006 with Stage IV Colon Cancer. My doctor phoned today to let me know my PET/CT from Friday looked good and clear! Another 6 months of NED! Today I thank God for all his b...

Hi everyone - I lost tons of hair too - thankfully my hair was very thick and I had a terrific stylist. I went every two/three weeks and he gave me a protein treatment, put a plastic bag over it and sat me under the dryer for about 20 minutes. He felt my hair was "breaking" versus "falling out". Abo...

Hi - thanks for your emails and concern. I did see the oncologist on Friday and he was very positive - he still feels this is a resperatory infection that is working its way out of my system. He said the inflamation was smaller than the previous scan - and if it is cancer, it would be larger in size...

PET scan - inflamation in the lungs!

Well, I've been putting off writing this in hopes of not letting my worries get the best of me! Maybe someone out there has had a similar situation - if so - I'd love to hear from you. I completed 11/12 rounds of chemo on 12/06 I had a PET during chemo 8/06 which came back clear. In Feb. I had my fi...

Hi Molly, I friend recently recommended the book Beating Cancer with Nutrition by Patrick Quillin. Berries are definitely in the "BEST" catagory i.e. based on nutrient density, glycemic index and anti-cancer properties. I HIGHLY recommend the book! I know this topic can be quite controversial - but ...

Several reasons - the lymph node involvement was greater than 3, the preformation through the colon wall, and the metastizing into the peritoneum which is considered a large major organ - catigorizes it to a IV although I've met others here on the forum staged at IIIC - I guess it depends on the onco.

I'm also Stage IV - no mets to liver or lungs and 4/11 lymph nodes involved. My cancer broke through the colon wall and dripped into the peritoneum forming another tumor that was removed during surgery. My surgeon told me the cancer had been growing for 5-10 years with virtually no symptoms. I was i...

THANK YOU Colon Club ... because of each of you my questions were answered and my fears rationalized....I ...

Hi Tandy, I'm 43 - stage IV colon cancer with 3/11 lymph nodes. I'm on the same schedule as you - one week on - one week off - with continuous infusion. I have three boys (22,19,14) - I know how difficult it can be and totally relate to the scary idea of not being there to watch them grow - stay pos...
