Re: Bad news

Cheese, desolee de ces nouvelles peu rejouissantes. Not that I wish you back on chemo, but if it worked it's probably worth going back on it. For now all you can do is be patient and keep your faith that you're going to beat this sh*t. Courage, je sais que c'est dur! Liz

Re: First me...now Mum

So sorry to hear this. I am in the UK and my parents live in France where my mum received treatment throughout her illness. I hope things turn out okay for your mum, they can! Have you got the plan of action yet? She should also be assigned a McMillan nurse if she's in the UK? I am sure this will he...

Re: Folfuri pukes

Hi Wendy,
My mum had severe nausea with Folfiri, and the only thing that ever helped was to get the anti-emetics through IV during the fisrt few days. On Folfox she was able to take some Emend for the nausea and it worked well. Hope next rounds are easier on you.

Re: Dad is fading away slowly..

Oh Catta, so sorry you have to go through this, for having lost my mum 3 weeks ago, I can only say that I hope you will find comfort in the fact that his suffering will be no more. My mum left us 'early' - no one thought she was close to the end, and I suppose the silver lining is that she had a pea...

Re: Finished Semester 1!!!

Well done you, you should be very proud, when you're a doctor no one will care about 75 or 85%! Enjoy the break, make the most of it so you can tell your dad all about it! :)

Re: COLON RESECTION QUESTIONS ... help please

Fede, wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Hope your dad's surgery goes as planned and he recovers well. I feel for you as I know too well the anguish you're going through. Of course you want to be there for your dad and do your utmost, but please make sure that you look after yourself too, as you...

Tribute fund for my mum

I set up a tribute fund online in my mum's name. Any donation goes to MacMillan cancer support, a UK-based charity that provides invaluable support to cancer sufferers in the UK. My mum was treated in France but I live in the UK and unfortunately cancer knows no border. I have heard many a cancer pa...

And life goes on...

I wanted to thank you all for your kind words. Last week has been the hardest of my life by a long stretch, and it is going to take a long, long time for me to heal. Suppose the sadness is as deep as the love was. My dad is doing as well as can be, better then me I think! He says he was so worried a...

There will be no miracle, and no Christmas either

My beautiful, beautiful mum passed away early afternoon. She left us the way she would have wanted to, quickly and without pain.
She's in the stars now, and in my heart forever.

Re: There will be no miracle

Thanks all, your support means a lot. I live in the UK with my young family and my partner & I work full-time, and my parents are in France, so unfortunately I don't see my mum very often. We speak, text and skype each other a lot. It is so hard to be far from her when I just want to give her a ...
