Re: stage 1 to stage 4

Four yrs ago I was diagnosed with what the doctors thought was stage 3 cc. Before I started chemo my oncologist sent me for a pet scan to put my mind at ease. It did the opposite because some lymph nodes near my kidney lit up but couldn't be biopsied since it was too close to my aorta. After chemo, ...

Re: My Dad Died Yesterday

I'm so sorry for your loss, we're never really prepared to lose someone we love. I just lost my mom in Aug. She was fine, not sick at all when all of a sudden she developed a cough. We we're told it was pneumonia, they drained fluid from around the lung, then decided to do surgery to try:remove flui...

Re: Refuses Chemo, What next?

It most definately is your boyriends decision but he should be well informed before deciding. I was diagnosed 4 yrs ago, had surgery, 6 months of chemo and then 2 yrs without chemo. We were watching some nodes that couldn't be biopsied because of where they were. Finally it grew and was able to be b...

Re: Using the Cancer Card

I recently got called for jury duty and on the papers they send it tells you if you're unable to serve have the Dr write a letter. I was finished with treatment at that time but was going to go back on chemo shortly so the Dr wrote a note on her letterhead explaing that I had cancer and because of t...

Re: doc appointments week of march13

Just had my ct scan today after finishing my 2nd round of chemo. If everything is clean, I then get to take 1-2 months off before I start maintence chemo. But besides that, I have an appointment coming up with my rhematologists ( have rhematoid arthritis from 1st chemo),another one with my retina sp...

Re: To Color or not to Color??....

Three years ago when I had my first round of chemo and knowing that I wasn't going to lose my hair but that it would thin, my onc said coloring was fine. This time when I started my second round and knowing I was going to lose my hair, I was told once again coloring was fine. Now that my hair is ver...

Re: 2010 - In Memoriam

Christina Constante, 57 yrs young, passed away in March after fighting for 7 yrs. She never posted here, but I met her thru a CC suport group and we became instant friends. She spent her last Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and her birthday in the hospital, but I know she's at peace now and no lo...

Re: Just Sing, People, Just Sing

I haven't posted in quite awhile so I was shocked today when I read of the passing of Justsing. She always had such an upbeat attitide about this horrible disease, which can be difficult at times! I want to express my deepest sympathies to her family, but know that she will always be around you and i...

Every one has to make the decision that is right for them and only them. I was diagnosed at 52 with cc and was originally told all I needed was surgery. Once they got in there, it was worse than they thought, it was stage 3 and I needed to do 6 months of chemo. Believe me I was not happy about it, e...

Re: CC Weight Loss Members- here's my update

I have been on EffexorXR which can either take your appetite away or make you gain weight. Unfortunately, even though I don't have much of an appetite I have gained weight! I also take Gabapentin which is another med that makes you gain weight. It can be really frustrating not eating alot but gainin...

Re: Just Got Laid Off

Angela, I'm really sorry to hear you got laid off. It sucks being laid off but what makes it suck even more,is to have this happen after everything you've just been thru. I believe things happen for a reason and that when one door closes another one opens. In Sept 2007 my dog got very sick and we di...

Re: neuropothy feels like-

I've been finished with chemo for a little over a year and I still have neuropathy in my feet and very slightly in my fingers. My feet bother me the most when I sleep at night, I'm constantly flexing my toes because of the numb feeling. I tried the Glutamine and B6 but it didn't do a thing, so I've ...

Re: wetness

I'm sorry that I can't answer your question about this, but my advice is to see your doctor. Stop being embarrassed, unfortunately that's a big problem, people being to uncomfortable to talk to their doctors! Don't you realize that doctors have seen and heard it all. Isn't it better to find out what...
