Re: Sister about to Get Colostomy Bag--Advice?

I have had a Colostomy for 6 years and my first year it was an Ileostomy. There are some here that have an Ostomy but the wealth of information is found on the United Ostomy Associations of America website http://www.ostomy.org. It is very scary at first to have one and I cried for days and fainted ...

Re: rectal spasms - tenesmus?

To Colon Girl,

I just had spasms again last week after my colonoscopy and also a scope of my rectal stump which caused the spasms! What helps me is sitting on a heating pad and also a pill called Soma which is muscle relaxer and then throw in a few Oxy's.

Good Luck!

After Hospital Stay Drabs! How to get over them?!

Hi Everyone! What a week! And I topped off last week in the Hospital AGAIN! Not sure what happened, was scheduled for my yearly scope on Friday, so on Wednesday I took two Ducolaxes before bed, was that a mistake?! I am thinking so. I woke up to start my prep day feeling like I wanted to throw up an...

Re: Now accepting applications for 2014 Colondar models

My wife is on her 10th treatment of folfox. Diagnosed at age. Of 29. I guess my question is do u halt to have a scar ? She has no surgeries as of yet just hoping for some! The shoot is in June, so surgery can't obviously be around them and due to the remoteness of shoot AKA not much medical help, I...

Re: pants post ileostomy- first time shopping

I have found it easier to wear elastic waist clothes, like Chico's. And I have several other elastic waist pants. I do have a pair of stretchy jeans that I LOVE too!

Re: Now accepting applications for 2014 Colondar models

Hello. I read this call for applications and I must admit to much curiousity about why there is an age limit. I mean no disrespect with my question; I simply want to learn the reasoning behind the guidelines. Thank you! Jean Jean that is a good question and I see you are new to the Forum, so welcom...

Re: Scholarships offered to attend Call on Congress 2013

This has been a dream for me for a long time!!! And when my mom passed I was able to seed the fund and get this going, so I am excited!!!! About requirements my guess is that you do have to be a US citizen because Call in Congress is to enact US legislation and at this point not world legislation. Y...

Re: Bag Jugling

Well I have had this happen in private and waiting for the day when it happens in public! Anyone have this happen..... I wear a two piece system and have a colostomy, so you take the bag off to check things out and and a rogue missile goes flying like it was launched from a slingshot! Lands on the g...

Re: Colon, Breast , & Ovarian Connection

Glad to hear from you! I can say from experience that there is a very big connection with ColoRectal and Ovarian, in fact I had an elevated CA125 tumor marker for Ovarian and I also had an elevated CEA. In fact they thought I had Ovarian at first, but later determined it was Rectal. They even gave m...

Re: Question for moderators

Yes that is very true, until the reader reads it it sits there, so at least you know the reader has not read it, also if the mailbox is full for that person it may never get read. If you are sending it to a Mod right now, I think our boxes are piled with behind the scenes stuff right now, we have a ...

Re: FRANCES is forbidden, I THINK ALL MUST HELP OURSELVES...

Well I am also sorry Eric took the heat over this.....I came on the boards yesterday for the first time in awhile to find Frances disgusting post and another making fun of Gaelen and I wanted to throw up! I SUGGESTED that two people be banned, although I did not pull the lever. And it is more then t...
