Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

It really has been a long time since I posted here. I have made the effort to live my life fully since diagnosis and treatment and been incredibly busy doing that and mothering my three girls. “Challenge by Choice” has been my motto ever since going through that challenging year of treatment and sur...

Re: Nose Sores

The two things I did that made a difference were: 1) Use saline spray every time you gently blow your nose. It is way gentler than just blowing to get the blood clots/nasty stuff out. 2) Right after using the saline spray and cleaning out your nose, use a cotton swab and Vaseline/petroleum jelly to ...

Re: My Dad Died Yesterday

So sorry for you and your family. I lost my father to a stroke when I was 24 and I still miss him terribly. I am glad you have had a chance to prepare and spend time with him in advance of his passing. I pray you and your family will be comforted while you handle everything on your plate now.

Re: Made it to my 31st wedding anniversary!

Congratulations to you both! I imagine there is a closeness this cancer experience brings to couples who stick it out together. Hope my husband and I get to 31 years of marriage together! That would be a great blessing.

Re: Nov. 19 - World Toilet Day!

No kidding, we are fortunate to have toilets. Ten years ago I was at a public health clinic in Nairobi, Kenya, and was surprised to see, in a very modernized regional capital, that the bathroom facility was a hole in the cement floor of the stall. There was a toilet in the modest apartment where I l...

Re: How are you doing after ileostomy reversal?

Thanks so much. What is the difference between rolled oats and steel cut oats, I wonder? How much rectum do you have left? I have half. I am sure it makes quite a difference after reversal. What brand of probiotics do you use? Does it matter? So I guess lifting my three year old is out of the questi...

Re: How are you doing after ileostomy reversal?

Wow, folks, what a wealth of information on these five pages of posts! Holy cow! My reconnect was one week ago and things are going way better than I expected. I have been out of my house a few times (during the day I have very little going on in the way of BMs). Mostly morning and and evening actio...

Re: Sciatica and scanxiety

Hang in there, Beth! I got my results over the phone, and although the speed of information is nice, it is also problematic, because there were questions raised that now have to be volleyed off the oncologist and radiologist, so I am less than satisfied. I probably won't really know until you do, ev...

Re: Scanning today and neuropathy annoyance

Just got scan results back and everything looks good, but the radiologist seemed to notice a thingy, spot, whatever you call it, but he didn't reference it back to my original scan to show any potential size change. He said that the two spots on my lungs looked identical to the previous scan, so I f...
