Re: chemo induced neuropathy

I have been out of treatment for 6 years now....And can truly say the only reminders I have of chemo is the neuropathy in hands in feet...Wish i had better news. It is a permanent side effect that I just have learned to live with.

You should check out the travel TP in the Colon Club store, it is soft, comes in a small plastic container and comes in handy!

Re: New - unsure what is happening

It is highly unlikely you pulled out a polyp, etc.... Sometimes constipation can have really hard, rabbit pellet type of stool, but the bleeding definatiely needs to be followed up with, you could have actually pulled off a hemorrhoid that has not healed and continues to bleed. Re: undigested food in stool

Have you tried Metamucil wafers to help absorb some of the bile, and make the stools bulkier? They are wonderful, and at first it takes a little getting used to due to excess bloating and maybe extra gas, but that may help

Re: PET Scan Ordered

I have had PET scans on and off over the last 5 years, the last being this past Monday. We have used PET scans to determine if there is any uptake of the sugar isotopes when the CT scan shows something of concern. For example after my liver resection last year (which turned up negative) there was &q...

Re: Lower Back Pain & Arm

The back pain could be cramping from the chemo, my colon would cramp like crazy, and probably one of the worst things I remember about chemo.' Does your friend get chemo through an IV and not a port? Keep an eye on the arm, watch for fever etc..... just to make sure there is not a localized infectio...

Re: Surgery July 30th

Most surgeons surround themselves with good partners, and you would probably meet them as they rotate call daily in the hospital after your surgery. But if it makes you feel better, try and meet them before since you have time.

Re: Liver resection

I just had a liver resection in Oct. 2009, turned out not to be a reoccurence of my CC, but a benign tumor that looked like cancer, was pretending to be cancer, etc..... I was very nervous as well.
