Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't been here for awhile. I have been thinking of you all so much. It has been 7wks since Scott left us and is just doesn't get any easier. I feel imprisoned with grief and have been avoiding everyone and everything which I know has to change. It was recently on the news th...

No more pain for Esteban

My dear sweet Esteban passed away last night. He had a peaceful passing and was comfortable. He is now whole again and sitting at the feet of our Awesome God. His wish was to be pain free and not to suffer for weeks. His was granted his wish. He was up talking all day Saturday, and then yesterday he...

Time for hospice

Esteban has officially stopped treatment and we have called in hospice. He is currently in the hospital due to pain and vomitting. The drs suspect it is the beginning of liver failure. I have talked to the kids, and we are now prepared for the new stage of this journey. We don't know how long we wil...

Re: erbitux; dehydration; ending treatment

Niki, Yes it appears they are heading down the same road. The last two days have been great though. He has felt very good. Almost to the point where he will probably decide that continuing treatment is worth it. I have been looking into trials but where we are located there aren't many options, and ...

erbitux; dehydration; ending treatment

The past two months have been a rollercoaster ride for sure. So many things have happened since December 1st that I can't even remember what all I have shared. The long and short of it is that he had a heart episode ( some say heart attack and some say reaction to 5fu); found out that he has mets on...

Re: mom stopped chemo...now what..

My dh is almost in that same position. The past week has been rough on him. He said that he is just tired of being sick. It broke my heart, but I told him that when he was ready to stop treatment that I would understand. As much as I hate to lose him; I can't stand to see him suffer. I know it is ha...

Re: Yellowish skin color

I agree with Hannah. Yellowing usually means jaundice and is the entire body. We just went through this with dh. Ask the dr if they have checked his bilirubin levels. If you are concerned with the coloring please make the dr do further testing to find out the cause.

Re: Stage IV with no positive Lymph Nodes

My husband does have lymph node involvement. Was just in lymph nodes and I thought in the beginning that was a good thing. We are learning now that it is NOT a good thing to be in lymph nodes. It has now spread to liver and pancreas. I would think from everything that I have read that no lymph nodes...

Bev, I feel every emotion that you feel. We have lost so so many dear souls last year. I think of them often esp but not limited to Bill and Galeen. I can only imagine what they would be thinking about now. I am almost afraid to log on lately because of all the teenage drama. My life has much more i...

Re: I CUT MY FINGER... because of this cancer .... terrible

I hardly ever post to these threads, but this one cut me to the core. My husban suffers pain every hour of every day from this STUPID cancer and yes I mean FROM the cancer. Until you have gone through surgery and chemo and all the other treatments these courageous fighters have been through, we can'...

Re: Distant lymph node metastasis with no organ involvement

My dh was an Olymphian until last month when it spread to his liver and pancreas. It has been over 2 years since diagnosis so stats are really only that. Like someone else said, blow the stats out of the water.

Re: OUT OF THE BOX II - Some interesting combinations STAT3

The trial was a little over 2 years ago and at the time you had to have No Evidence of Disease and the surgery had to have clear margins. The reason is because one arm of the trial was 6 folfox treatments with Celebrex and the other was 12 folfox treatments with Celebrex and another arm with placebo...

Re: OUT OF THE BOX II - Some interesting combinations STAT3

Fede,

I know they were, maybe still are, doing clinical research of Celebrex in conjunction with Folfox. My husband was initially offered to be in the trial but since the margins weren't clear he was not eligible.
