Re: New here. Bleeding from bum

Hello everyone,. . . . II finally found one. The colonoscopy was scheduled for yesterday. To make an incredibly long story short. I did the prep perfectly. But I drank water before the procedure because my paperwork did NOT say I wasn't allowed to and I wasn't to have the colonoscopy. I was in my h...

Re: Confused Stage2 or Stage3

. . . Our new oncologist, on the other hand, believes that, CT scans are 99% accurate and my husband's enlarged lymph nodes shown on CT scan before chemoradiation and surgery were in fact cancerous and the reason all his lymph nodes tested negative for cancer is because his preop chemoradiation kil...

Re: stoma colonoscopy

I normally use the non drainable bags (disposal bags, one time use), butt I always keep drainable bags on hand for situations like prepping for colonoscopy, or if I'm sick, ie diarrhea, non normal situations.

Good luck

Re: stoma colonoscopy

I am a 14 yrs survivor and have a permanent colostomy. I've had MANY scopes through the years, yes you have to use prep solution as if you had a rectum, butt in my case I don't always need to finish that 2nd dose of the that wonderful prep solution. When my output turns a yellowish color, I'm done. ...

Re: Baseline CEA correlation with metastasis and survival??

I am losing it—my mom’s CEA came back at 17. I quickly Googled this and got countless studies showing high numbers, particularly over 10, likely mean stage IV and likely mean recurrence and low survival. There is a 2017 study that contradicts this and says it is really just a baseline and its post-...

Re: New here - My cautionary tale

Welcome, sorry for the reason you are here. WOW, so very sorry for all you've been through. Glad you switch Onc, that would have been my first advice. Also getting 2nd opinions are ALWAYS a good idea. I would recommend it with a major cancer hospital or major cancer treatment center. Especially sinc...

If it says to drink 8oz every 15 min, it okay to bump it out to every 20 mins or what works for you. The best thing is to try and not throw it back up.

Good luck tomorrow.

I too will be praying for you. This was a few years back, butt I was told PET scan was the gold standard for possible cancer activity.

All the best,
