Re: Did anyone have experience with Cystitis caused by Irinotecan.

I believe you are a female, when I was on chemo, (female here) I thought I had a UTI. Onc said it was probably yeast infection, turned out she was right.

Good luck,

Re: Bleeding

You might want to talk with the Dr who is treating her, it might be time to consider hospice. At 80, she's earned the right to live her life they way she wants. I believe hospice with help her achieve that butt will also make sure she is comfortable. Drinking more water might help with constipation....

Re: Where did all the 'guests' go?

Was that this past weekend? Once or twice when I tried to check in, I would get an error message basically saying site could not be found. I just assumed it was busy. Maybe there is a connection.

Re: Just told I have a mass in rectum

So all tests are done and the doctors had their board meeting. They told me this morning that it is a 1 B stage. T 2. M 0. After seeing oncologist/radiologist, I was told today that they can remove the tumor without any treatment. Wow, now I'm excited. But, should I have a second opinion? I was get...

Re: Larry has an eviction date!!!

Beans is hanging in there. I was prepared to press for the surgery if they wanted to delay it again because all of the delays were contributing to her anxiety. She actually is a bit better knowing it is happening. I have been spending every minute I can with her making special memories just in case...

Re: 1st MRI tomorrow after Neoadjuvant therapy

Your doing a great job, your mom is from a different era. I remember soon after my surgery, a man wrote into Dear Abby regarding his cancer and colostomy, he was 20 years older than I. One of his last comments was he would rather die than live with his colostomy. Dear Abby suggested he should be gra...

Re: 1st MRI tomorrow after Neoadjuvant therapy

Lee: Coloplast makes a quality adhesive coupling system in its SenSura line. Colopast, in my opinion, is the highest in quality of the ostomy manufacturers and the more innovative. You can go to the Coloplast website and order a sample of the SenSura 2-piece adhesive coupling system. Once you have ...

Re: 23 year old female, waiting on pathology

Hi and welcome, sorry for the reason you are here. Do you know if colon cancer runs in your family? If you have any siblings, they too should be scoped because of your diagnoses. I agree on getting genetic testing. The info could be helpful where your daughter is concerned. She may need to be scoped...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

So depressed tonight. The waiting for surgery is horrific. I need to stop feeling so hopeless. Your stories help. But I still read all the terrible endings. I feel just lost... Very normal, depression, fear are normal reactions to getting a cancer diagnoses, especially early on. If you think it mig...

Re: 1st MRI tomorrow after Neoadjuvant therapy

Lee: There are two different coupling systems for two piece ostomy systems 1. Press-and-click Tupperware-type coupling; 2. Adhesive coupling. The adhesive coupling systems are gaining in popularity as the systems are lower in profile, more pliable and flexible (there is no rigid plastic ring), and ...

Re: 1st MRI tomorrow after Neoadjuvant therapy

Thank you Karen, As it is, I get 75 pouches a month, and yes, they will up it if needed. Butt 75 seems to work for me. What I eat does effect my bowels, I am a lot more stricter with my diet on the week days, looser on the weekend. Generally major output happens on the weekends with a lot more liqui...

Re: New here......not a club I planned to join!

Ditto to what weisssoccermom said. If you do indeed have rectal cancer vs colon cancer, you really need chemoradiation prior to surgery. Is there anyway to get a 2nd opinion. You've only got one shots to get this right the first time. And if you are dealing with rectal cancer, you are NOT being trea...

(((BeansMama)))

So glad to hear of Larry's eviction notice. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for sometime to come. How is Bean taking all of this? I hope your ex is being helpful at this time.

All the best to you and your daughter.
