Re: Good news

Congratulations on being in NEDville. Yes getting scans has been an issues. Me personally, I wanted them. Chemo has taken a toll on my body, "that" more than likely the scans will catch up with me first. I've heard more than once, I want to be around in 15 to 20 years and "experience&...

Re: Weight

Weight Watcher's is also a good choice, to lose weight and believe it or not to possible gain weight. They push healthy eating along with a support system, weekly meeting or more often if you need it.

Re: Hello Guys! Need your advice here

Chances are you are okay, butt anytime you have blood coming from your rectal, it should be checked out. You need a colonoscopy. And yes, let your Dr know colon cancer does run in your family.

Good luck, let us know how it goes,

Re: Quality of life on Folfox and others

Hi (((Lydia))) I did 12 rounds of FOLFOX, at full dose. I got FOLFOX when it was still an experimental drug approved for stage IV folks only (I was IIIC at the time). I was part of trial that my Onc got me on board with. For the most part I recovered. My feet suffer the worst. When they are cold, it...

Re: Anyone on here from Nova Scotia Canada?

My understanding we have people here from all parts of the planet today. This forum was started in the USA to help one of the founders, Molly. To cheer her on as she roller skated across the USA to help raise money and awareness for getting colon cancer under the age of 50. From there it evolved int...

Re: private message question.

Thank you, and yes this really is a wonderful forum with lots of information and support. Wish it have been around when I was in active treatment. Sure would have helped me a lot. There was another forum then that is mostly non active today because it had a lot of censorship. You were very limited o...

Re: Weight

My understand being overweight puts you at a "higher" risk for developing certain cancers and other medical issues like diabetes. Not sure how it plays a roles with recurrences. My assumption (coming from a non medical person), it probably does not help being overweight. I was not overweig...

Re: Isolation

Hi Dan and welcome, So sorry for what you are going through. I too have a permanent colostomy, butt for me, it gave me my life back. My question to you, did you have a choice or did you wake up from surgery and learn of it? Sometimes that can impact how you feel about a colostomy. How long have you ...

Re: Confused Stage2 or Stage3

. . . .don't take medical oncology advice from a surgeon ! etc. etc. etc. CRguy That is the best advice, Know in your heart, your husband can beat this. Whether it is stage 2 or stage 3, it is treatable. The chemo he is about to get is to clean up/mop up any floater cancer cells that might be in hi...

Re: New here. Bleeding from bum

Hello everyone,. . . . II finally found one. The colonoscopy was scheduled for yesterday. To make an incredibly long story short. I did the prep perfectly. But I drank water before the procedure because my paperwork did NOT say I wasn't allowed to and I wasn't to have the colonoscopy. I was in my h...
