On another note, his glucose was very elevated. No big surprise there. He's diabetic again thanks to his ice-cream-daily diet. No chemo to blame now. Count your blessings . . . A dear friend of my mine, her husband is battling cancer, he it going through chemo and radiation right now when it was de...

Re: 6 months of symptoms - colonoscopy results

. . . The doctor said “no cancer, no real areas of concern” but I just can’t convince myself otherwise. Can they really know just by looking?? ! YES!!! They are medically trained to know/look at these things. Are the 100% correct all the time, NO that is why a pathology report is so important. It s...

Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi Brenda, I am so sorry to read your post. Have you checked out immunotherapies? Don't know if you know much about Beansmama. Every chemo failed her, Keytruda was the only thing that worked for her. Got her to surgery, and Larry was dead thanks to Keytruda. Yes she died from a blood clot, butt as W...

Re: 6 months of symptoms - colonoscopy results

Oh goodness, I can empathize with you. Three years ago (2015) I had my first colonoscopy due to bleeding hemorrhoids and persistent pain in my lower abdomen. It came back totally clear, but I had no answers. Tried the low FODMAP diet, which worked for awhile, and I figured out which sugars were dif...

Re: Any Stage IV currently in NEDville? Please share any advice or tips? P

I'm bumping this thread back up to the top. KNOW there are many people out there who are stage IV survivors (many in NEDville). They just do not check in as often. If you do a search, you will find other threads asking the same question. Know that it is possible to beat this cancer and MANY stage IV...

Re: 6 months of symptoms - colonoscopy results

Thank you, Lee. This was a little shock today, with no family history of the same. I’m 31 and now suddenly I feel like I’m going to be constantly on edge for the rest of my life, wondering what’s growing in me, if it turns out to be precancerous. Or worse, what if the report comes back and says the...

Re: 6 months of symptoms - colonoscopy results

[quote="StillAnxious"] So now I wait. I didn’t realize inflammation could be precancerous. And can polyps be cancerous? I was hoping this exam would be a relief but now I’m just left with more questions. [quote] Inflammation can lead to cancer. Yes a polyp can be precancerous. These doctor...

Re: Scared of having colon cancer

If you were scoped 6 months ago, your chances of having rectal/ colon cancer is nil to none. A polyp generally take 10 yrs to turn cancerous. Keep a food journal and see if there is a connection between foods and how it might effect you. Example for me, I love my greens, butt those greens especially...

Re: New ileostomy

. . . if anyone has any suggestions on how to help it along. Im very bloated and its uncomfortable. Try walking. Slow & steady, it has helped me. If you start to experience waves of pain and nausea (and possible throwing up), you might be having a blockage. If that does happen, stop eating/drin...

Re: Cannot decide whether to do targeted therapy are not

If you are able to travel, yes you might want to check it out now as a possible back up plan. If the chemo proves to not be working, yes do consider it. OR . . . Here is a thread you might want to read. "TIL Imunotherapy at NCI" http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&...

Re: Just got real, y'all

Ditto to Justin Case.

I would always get an egg cheese breakfast sandwich on the ways to chemo.

Can you get something to help with your hot flashes. Funny I did not get hot flashes until AFTER I finished chemo. Chemo nurse told me this can happen.

good luck,

MY CEA bounces around. It can go from 2.5 to 3.5 then back down to 3.2, etc.

What they are looking for is an upward trend over a few CEA test results

Re: Worried wife trying to get information

Get a copies of (all) the pathology report(s). That should help provide some info. O Stoma Mia can direct you to a site that shows how to read these pathology report. Get a 3 ring binder and keep copies of all reports, blood words, scans etc. in this one binder. There is a sticky at the top, "T...
