Re: Colonoscopy?

Ditto to what KimT said. My first colonoscopy found my cancer, I had a few other tests including a CAT scan for help in staging. Has anyone talked to you about him getting a colonoscopy? If they suspect colon cancer, yes he should probably get one. Lee P.S. to add, he probably should be scoped to re...

Hi and I'm going to say welcome. You are asking the right questions. This is the place for information and support. First you might want to look at this thread. It's a sticky at the top of the forum, "Terminology and abbreviations" It's kind of a crash course in medical terminology. http:/...

Re: Hope vs reality

So very sorry for what you are going through. This is a thread from a guy many of us loved who past away a few years ago. He was only given a few months to live, butt managed to live beyond 5 years. He made the most of the time he had. Maybe you can find some inspiration in it. http://coloncancersup...

Re: Never able to be cured....I need u guys more than ever

The quick story regarding Sleen, she had too many tumors to operate on, surgery was not an option. They took a couple of her tumors out, did some interesting things to them, then put them back inside of her. Her body started to attack all the other tumors except for one in her lung. At some point, t...

Re: In need of metastasis education

My understanding colon cancer tend to metastasis in the liver and rectal cancer tends to metastasis to the lungs. This is not concrete but tends to be a general rule. Guess it has something to do with lymph nodes and blood stream flows.

Re: Small hiatal hernia

Are you talking about a hernia or a blockage? A blockage is when your intestine gets twisted, you are unable to pass anything. Throwing up along with waves of nausea and pain. If it continues for a long period of time, seek medical help as you could be killing off the twisted part of the intestine. ...

Re: Never able to be cured....I need u guys more than ever

Of course, every case is different, but here's my story. I had chemo for 14 months straight. At the end of that, I was told emphatically that I was not and never would be a candidate for surgery. I had mets in every lobe of my liver and both lungs. They said if they operated on one area, then the o...

Re: New member Stage 4 questions

Hi and so very sorry for the reason you are here. When you say stage IV, where has the cancer spread to? Am I correct to assume more than one location? Lungs, liver, etc. Many people have found success with a stage IV cancer diagnoses when they get aggressive treatment. There are many people here th...
