I am a nurse, and during my treatment I was actually in nursing school. Being a patient, I think was a wonderful experience, just for the fact of knowing what it feels like to have no control, and learning that pushing morphine fast hurts. It also didn't help, because it made me anal, I watched in h...

I started my treatment with 5FU IV form, and I did not like it, I was nauseated, had no desire for food (it caused a terrible taste in my mouth), had to get a IV daily (ouch), and had to go get infusions daily. So, my doc finally decided that Xeloda would be better for my cancer treatment, he said i...

I was Michelle's roommate during the colondar shoot at lake george, and it is surreal to think she is gone, and that a disease I too have, caused that. She will always be remembered as a casuality in this terrible war, and a reminder for us all to take good care of ourselves and force the doctors to...

I was still drowsy from the versed used for my colonoscopy, and my GI doc said, "How do you take bad news", I said I don't know, he then said you have cancer. He knew right when he saw it, that thats what is was. So, I do recall it , and I was in my hospital post-op from my resection, when my surgeo...

After surgery and during chemo, I could not eat nor sleep. I never got a prescribed marinol, but my boyfriend had a medical marijuana liscence for his medical issues and gave me some, it really changed my problems into the past. I was able to sleep every night after a smoke and actaully gained 15 po...

I believe the fact that the rectum is highly vascular is the main reason that they make it a standard of treatment for rectal cancer. But, I chose to not undergo radiation due to the fact that my tumor had been removed, my scans were negative, CEA negative and I did not want to be in menopause at 21...

Tom, I can absolutely relate to you. But, its not dreams, it just me waiting for the floor to fall out from under me. I have the nagging suspicion that this is just not over for me, I am 2 1/2 years out of surgery, and I am just waiting for it to show up somewhere in my body. But, then I think it pr...

Hmm... yes it is only Weds. for me too, but I am having a good say, I met a new oncologist today, my 4th for the record, and am going to get to have a new CT scan and PET scan, exciting as we all know. But, I am happy to be tested, it is the only true way to tell if that little bastard, cancer, is t...
