Re: Side effects of Metoclop?

It could actually be either the Kytril or metoclopramide. I get the same feeling when they give me compazine. My jumpiness gets so bad I can't sit still and almost ripped IV's out one time. They told me it was something called tardive dyskinesia. It's more defined in compazine, since it was once use...

Re: 16yr old with bleeding need encouragement

I came into this board in Feb because of rectal bleeding. I was having no other symptoms..no cramping, no pain- just alot of blood and mucus. went to the GI specialist and he said I should just get a scope to make sure nothing was funky, but said he was sure it was hemmroids or a lost earring (long ...

Re: Colonoscopy Prep day for me, again

Never heard of Pico Salax, but preps do suck. Did mine on the 17 of Feb (miralax & doculax) and my Hubby is doing MoviPrep on the 29th of this month.
I watched a lot of movies and the first 3 seasons of House MD.
Good Luck!

Re: Kytril vs Zofran vs Marijuana

Speaking from a pharmacy standpoint, I see a lot more oncologists writing for Emend and Marinol then for Zofran and Kytril. They tend to stay away from Phenagran and Compazine b/c of the "hangover" effect and some funky side effects of compazine. There are patients who swear by Marinol and...

Re: Very scared ... and still in pain.

You guys are totally missing my point here. My point was that a colonoscopy however unpleasant is no where near the worst thing most of us have heard from our Dr's/Surgeon's/Oncologists. I wouldn't join a Glioblastoma forum and complain about a hangnail for instance, then say it's the worst thing y...

Re: Afraid for the worst...

Ok deep breath.. Good? Ok let me begin. I was in the EXACT same situation last month. many bowel movements, streaks of blood and a lot of mucus. I came on here for answers, and that's exactly what I got. The blood was mild at first, only on the poop, none on the TP. As time went by it was on the TP ...

Re: Very scared ... and still in pain.

BMurray, this poster wrote that she had two bad experiences with colonoscopies, that's why she was scared. Hell if was accidentally awake for mine, I'd be scared to do another also. She also explained that she was in no means comparing her self to any of you with cancer. So step off your high horse ...

Re: I bought roller skates today :)

Ohhh that sounds like a great idea!!! I'm not graceful so I'll have to go with the retro skates instead of the inline ones. I might go out and buy myself some this weekend too!!!

LOL we can be bruised buddies together.

Re: Hubby admitted a fun fact to me today..

Well the hubster has a scheduled colonoscopy on 3-30-2009 and they gave him MoviPrep for his pooping aide. So give me the dirty details, will I have to listen to him complain about the taste of this one?
MD thinks it's going to be Crohns- we shall see.

Re: Hubby admitted a fun fact to me today..

Hubby is at the GI now. I was banned from the appointment because I'm about three seconds from coughing up a lung and my voice is almost completely gone. Is it wrong that I'm secretly praying for a colonoscopy?? I told my mom on the phone I hope they make him get one and she told me I was sick..blah...

Re: Very scared ... and still in pain.

Hi! My name is Tara and I don't have CRC either. I was orginally DX'd with ulcerative proctitis but my GI changed his mind after my pathology came back and it extends a little further then he saw, so now it's classified as extensive colitis..to me is a pain. I came on this board a little over a mont...

Some mention of CRC on CNN

http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/03/05/ep.secrets.doctors/index.html

The listed "not being embarassed to talk to your doctor about your pee or poop and goes on from there.
It's #2 on the top ten list. I wonder if the pun was intended.

Re: First Chemo - 5fu and blurry vision

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dry/itchy skin, skin darkening, and sun sensitivity/sunburn may occur. Nausea and vomiting can be severe. In some cases, drug therapy may be necessary to prevent or relieve nausea and vomiting. Not eating before your treatment may help relieve vomiting. Changes in...
