Re: Constipation after Ileostomy Reversal

Are you on Facebook? There's a great group on there for those of us who have had low anterior resections. The folks on there have lots of good advice.

Re: Tired of rectal pain, considering ostomy; Any thoughts?

Maybe enemas would be difficult with rectal pain. I do think many of us (rectal cancer survivors) do have rectal pain and we find that daily enemas help with that immensely. Maybe you can try gentle enemas while you wean yourself off the painkillers. I would be hesitant to get an ostomy again until ...

Re: Freaking out of my mind...CEA climb and specks on lungs

Everyone's tolerance for this journey is different. When they first started seeing nodules on my lungs and I was told that we were going to "wait and watch" I hated that idea. I wanted to know right away and treat it right away. I found out over the years that lung mets are slow growing an...

Re: Freaking out of my mind...CEA climb and specks on lungs

I do this all the time. In fact, I just came home from a three month lung scan. The spots he saw three months ago were not there today. Yay! I was diagnosed with rectal cancer almost thirteen years ago and have had recurrences in my lungs three times. Twice I had VATS and once I had SBRT. My lungs a...

Re: Lung met treatment options please

I've had lung mets three separate times. The first two times I had VATS surgeries which were great. They got rid of the met, were an easy recovery and gave a pathology which was helpful. The third time everyone was in agreement that another surgery could compromise my lungs so I had SBRT. This was a...

Re: Daily Enema Therapy for LARS

TinaFish,

I KNOW that daily (or even every other day) warm water enemas would help you tremendously! Search them on this forum and if you're on FB we have a lively LARS group on there. You'd get a lot of support and great information.

Re: Possibly still NED...our story to date

I was treated by Nancy Kemeny a few years back. She was a tough cookie. I wasn’t there to make friends. I checked my ego at the door and let her take the wheel. I was desperate enough to put up with anything. I’m still standing as Elton John would say. I’d recommend her to anywho wants to survive th...

I think of Eric ever time I log on here. In fact, I don't come on here very much anymore because of the absence of Eric. He was a friend and an inspiration to many of us.

It sounds like you're having a good response to chemo. Take it one day at a time. I wish you well and many more years with your baby boy.
