Re: Stoma Reversal or Not

I loved NWGirl. I miss her. I'm eleven years out from an ileostomy reversal and I still think about going back to the bag almost every day. It has not been an easy adjustment from the bag. I have bouts of constipation that end in episodes of "clustering" bowel movements that go on for days...

Re: Ileostomy reversal experience?

I hate to be Debbie Downer  but I agree with you. If she's doing well with the ostomy maybe she would be better off keeping it. Since she's 78 I could see her having trouble with recovery. The surgery itself isn't that bad. It's the time afterwards that can very tough to deal with. I got rever...

Re: The Daily Enema

Hi. I'm not sure who you've emailed but this is a really old thread. You can put enema in the search box on this forum and you will get LOTS of great helpful information. There's also a private group on facebook for LARS sufferers. I always found this to be a really helpful thread. http://coloncance...

Re: Lung met growth after SBRT??

After SBRT I had a lot of scarring which made it difficult for the medical professionals to read a scan for about a year. They kept scanning and my oncologist was not very happy with what he could see. There was a lot of scarring which looked like cancer to him. My CEA was good so we waited it out f...

Re: Low rectal tumor without LARS?

I think many of our problems result from radiation as well as how low the tumor was.

Re: Something mentioned in my scan

Scans do pick up everything and some radiologists mention more than others. Unless the radiologist recommends a follow up or further testing I try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done.

Glad the rest of it was clear, Susie!

Re: From cancer and a blog to a book

Julie, That is so impressive. I'm not surprised at all. So many times I would read your inspiring posts and think "wow, she should write a book." I have read most of your blog and have marveled at how well written it is. It will be a beautiful lasting legacy for your girls and for Josh. I ...

Re: Peri mets, Stage IV --- Need advice

You can fight this. I've never had HIPEC, but I know that there is lots of information on here about it. I think there's an ongoing thread right now about it. Also, use the search option and you'll find lots. The first thing I would do would be to get to a major cancer center such as Memorial Sloan ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

That news can sure be overwhelming. You will get through it. It's a lot, but it's doable. Take it one step at a time. That sounds like such a cliche, but it's really the way I got through it. Think about it in small steps. You can do it.
