I had Theraspheres (virtually the same procedure - different company) here in Canada on October 30th. I would suggest going to the Y90 support group website for information. They can provide advice with dealing wtih insurance companies that have declined to fund the procedure. Also if you go to the ...

I just had Theraspheres (very similiar procedure, different brand name) yesterday in Montreal. So far I am feeling pretty good, not much different than I feel after chemo. Here is a great website that talks about the Y90 mircospheres procedures: http://www.y90support.org/yes/index.html I will be goi...

Here are two from people that should know better: After spending 10 days in the hospital after my subtotal colectomy, I was introduced to my oncologist at my hospital bedside. I was alone, and we discussed that I would be starting chemo, and once I was out of the hospital I was to make an appointmen...

Last year I tolerated 15 sessions of FOLFOX and had minimal neuropathy. I had the cal/mag infused pre and post my oxali. I am back on FOLFOX and although recently my oncologist wanted to stop the cal/mag, I insisted on keeping it. Currently it is not proven that the cal/mag effects the effectiveness...

I went last year in Chicago and it was great. Nice to hear about stage IV survival - something you don't here a lot of up here in Canada.

Plan on going this year as well. Would love to get together and meet others from the Colon Club!

Hi Missjv We found out the cancer had returned to the liver prior to starting post surgery chemo. Since Folfox and Avastin worked wonders for me last year, it was decided to start off with the same protocol and monitor closely for results. I have my CEA tested every 2 to 4 weeks and CT scan every 6 ...

Last year I had 15 sessions of FOLFOX4 and Avastin and had the cal/mag infused pre and post. I was able to tolerate the oxali, and only stopped chemo to prepare for my liver resection which I had in January. The cancer has returned (in the liver), and I am back on the same protocal - finished my 5th...

As this is your first post, do you have colon cancer? Or are you just asking a question in respect to constipation. I suffered from chronic constipation for 20+ years before I was diagnosed with stage IV cc at the age of 40. So, if you have not been diagnosed with cc, you may wish to be screened (vi...

I was diagnosed with stage iv CC Jan 24, 2006. Had a subtotal colectomy the next day. Had FOLFOX4 + Avastin for 15 sessions. Had a liver resecton, RFA x 2, wedge resection x 3 including gallbladder removal on Jan 29, 2007. The feeling of pressure at my tailbone is something I woke up in the recovery...
