Re: Dr. K...Is She Okay?

We saw her at the end of March/early April and thought she looked exhausted, but chalked it up to working so hard.

Would truly appreciate any updates/info -- as she too is an important member of our family. I hope she's doing OK.

Re: Options for inoperable stage iv Rc with liver mets???

Just chiming in as the daughter of a patient who was also not resectable -- with Dr. Kemeny and the HAI pump, he was! ....and he was diagnosed in 2008 -- just had another clean scan this week -- Good luck - you're in fantastic hands.

Thank you both, I really appreciate your replies.

It's amazing how something so seemingly insignificant can really send you for a loop.

Nancy's kids - anyone have their apt next wed moved?

Hi all - my dad was supposed to have his scan Monday with results Wednesday. Received a call this week saying Dr. K had to reschedule his Wednesday (3/30) apt to Monday (3/28), so scan/results in the same day. While that's great news for anxiety (those waiting days can be the toughest), crept in som...

Re: Kemeny walk Sunday need info asap

Here's the info: http://jnr5kwalk.com/details/

I couldn't find the start time of the brunch but last year it was immediately after the walk.

Just a heads up, the brunch was wonderful, but talks from Rentas' son were very emotional and I wasnt prepared for that. This year, I'll be ready :-)

Re: Nancy's kids question

haha i love that you said that; we do the same thing! Any kind of statement like "have a good summer" or "have a happy new year" we absolutely read into -- even something as simple as "pump and port flush today, right?" Trisha, though, has a great poker face -- I can ne...

Nancy's kids question

Hi everyone, My dad's been a frequent flyer at MSKCC for more than 7 years now, after an initial stage IV, inoperable, bilobal liver mets dx in February of 2008. He's had 8 surgeries and has been successfully NED for over two and a half years now! Quick 'reading tea leaves' sort of question -- Anyti...

Unexplained weight loss, how much to worry?

Hi all, I don't post too much, but read and keep up with everyone most everyday. My dad was dx with mCC (IV), with unresectable mets to both sides of the liver in February of 2008. After a staged resection, he was cancer free for about a year (until May 2010). Had another liver resection and chemo a...

Re: Seeing kemeny

I don't post here much, but I read everyday. Today is the six year anniversary of my dad being diagnosed with stage IV cc with mets to both sides of the liver. I'm humbled to say that he is currently off treatment and doing well. Without Dr. Kemeny, Dr. D'Angelica, and Dr. Nash, we wouldnt have toda...

Re: question that I'm grateful to have the opportunity to ask..

Lee -- as far as post-op treatment goes the surgeon said he thought it was unnecessary, but knowing the Doc she'd be "extra cautious" -- she said 6 mos at the most, but potentially as little as four, all and all 9 or 10 were done since surgery, I lost count!

question that I'm grateful to have the opportunity to ask..

Hi everyone, I'm hoping some of the NED-ers on the board might be able to answer some seemingly silly questions.. Today I received by 3rd clear scan following my 2 staged liver resection back in May. (WHOOPIE!) CEA readings have been normal since then as well. I have been undergoing my normal chemo ...

rfa vs. rfa + resection? big differences in success??

Hi All, I've been poking around the ol' medical journals lately (a bad idea, i know i know). And I've come across something interesting/new to me. I've always thought that RFA had relatively equal disease-free survival rates/ recurrence rates to a resection (not for the big tumors, but for the littl...
