Re: Cured it is then !

Great news! There is definitely hope for us Stage IV b-ers! Good luck with everything in the future, and enjoy life as it comes. I posted before, if you Mum is up to it, there's a marvellous workout program for 50 plus age group, called "Fabulous 50s" which keeps me strong and relatively h...

Re: 1 year clear from stage IV

Hi, Rob. I'm two years clear from Stage IV b with local mets. Hang on in there, you can be a survivor, too! Crying as I write this, as it's emotional to get through this whole procedure, and I have lots of follow-up PET scans etc. coming up. But wishing you much luck in continuing to survive.

Exercise - Female Over 50s

If you are able to do it, I recently discovered a marvellous online exercise routine for females over 50, by Schaelle Fowler (sorry if I spelled her name incorrectly, it's pronounced "Shelley"). Fabulous 50s has loads of videos of daily exercise routines, ranging from around 15 mins. to ab...

Hey, Chris. Great news, well cone. I was also diagnosed as stage IV B (local spread). Two years later, still going strong, after chemo and two major ops. Keep up the good work!

Scars

After surgery around one-and-a-half years ago, I now have multiple scars, especially an ugly five-inch abdominal one plus around 4 other scars from colostomy, stents, etc. Sometimes they itch and even get infected under my small "apron." Any advice on how to deal with these, physically and...

Re: My fiance , 33, gets Stage 4 diagnosis...

Hi, Strong Enough. You have to be mentally strong enough and positive! I am a pre-vivor (only 2 years in) stage IV with spread colon cancer lady. My statistics on survival were also very frightening. However, please try and remember this. Your partner is NOT a STATISTIC, she is a PERSON. And every p...

Total Pelvic Exenteration

Bs'd Hi, I am new to the forum and my posts got inadvertently deleted, my mistake! Oops! I just wanted to say that I was diagnosed as a stage IVb adenocarcinoma signmoid colon with local spread to pelvic organs and I had the "big" op. done around a year and a half ago. Don't be daunted, it...

Re: Sigmoid colon large tumor

Hi, I'm also new to this site (unfortunately!) I was diagnosed with stage IV b adenocarcinoma two years ago. I started with chemo then went to surgery. You just have to trust in your doctors and nursing specialists. If you're religious, pray! Also, if you can lean on your GP, so much the better. Get...

Total Pelvic Exenteration

Hi, I'm new to the website. In honor of my diagnosis exactly two years to the day, I have joined the group! I would like to give a heads up for total pelvic exenteration, despite the severity of this operation. I am a mother of six, aged 56 years on diagnosis. I was diagnosed after colonscopy two ye...
