Covid-19 vaccine advice

Hello everyone, I am finally eligible to receive the covid-19 vaccine. However, I was wondering if I should delay getting the vaccine until after my quarterly CT scan/CEA test at the end of March. I have read that some cancer patients who received the vaccine had increases in CEA and I also read the...

Re: Approaching 3 years NED Soon but CEO at 5.9 recently..

Hi, If your doctor is saying not to worry, I would trust what he is telling you. I know that rising CEA levels are stressful as hell though! The anxiety is a complete mind f**k! FYI, someone on here told me that inflammation can make your CEA rise as well. I am NOT saying that inflammation is the ca...

Re: Constant bowel movement and burning bottom!!!

Hi, I agree with beach sunrise about sitz baths. Sitz baths were extremely helpful to me after radiation. If you can find a sitz bath basin that fits over toilet seat, that is much easier than having to constantly get into and out of the tub. Also, a peri bottle is helpful to rinse bottom after bowe...

Re: My story

Henny, Welcome! I am sorry that you find yourself amongst the rest of us with a cancer diagnosis. I agree with the previous posts. Try not to think about the worst possible outcomes. I know it's hard, but please try! :) Also, don't look at all of the statistics on google, it is too depressing. Distr...

Re: Apprehensive about round three tomorrow

Carol,

I hope your subsequent rounds of chemo get easier. Although I don't know you, I wish that I could give you a hug. Please know that you are not alone in the cancer battle. I will say a prayer for you.

Best wishes,

Re: Single Mom, Newly Diagnosed, Need Support

Kartusch, The waiting is hard. Try to find something enjoyable to distract yourself from worrying. I don't know what you enjoy doing. For me, I enjoy movies. My sister loves yoga and it has helped her immensely with anxiety. Exercise is good. Mindful meditation is useful. Anything that you can do th...

Re: Colostomy and Gas Pains

Rikimaroo - Oh, gosh...I know that gas is uncomfortable. Are you able to walk a little bit? Sometimes that can help. I agree with boxhill about GasX.

prayingforccr - Have you considered counseling? I am concerned about your mindset.

Re: COVID-19 vaccine thoughts/concerns

boxhill - I hope you can get the vaccine soon. I had heard that states with larger populations would get vaccine first after the initial distribution to health care workers and those staying in LTC facilities. This may be wrong info. roadrunner - Wow, thank you for sharing your knowledge about the v...

beach sunrise - I can totally respect that decision. zephyr - I agree with you. I am terrified of Covid-19 too. Lee - Yes, the vaccine would be the lesser of two evils. I want my life to return to normal as well. Stu - That's great that you can get the vaccine on Dec. 8! I hope your symptoms after v...

COVID-19 vaccine thoughts/concerns

Hi everyone, I was wondering what others on this forum are thinking about the COVID-19 vaccine. Question 1: Are you open to getting the vaccine right away or do you want to wait until more information is published about side effects, safety, etc.? Question 2: Are there any concerns that cancer patie...
