Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Hello Siti,

I am a physician and work in a hospital and I have direct contact with covid patients. In Canada, front line healthcare workers are getting vaccinated first . I was worried about the side effects but everything went well.

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Hello Siti, I received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine last month and I didn’t have any side effects other than minor arm soreness at the side of injection. I am on active chemo( 5-fu and avastin). Some of my colleagues who don’t have cancer experienced fever, chills and myalgia after their second ...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

Hi All, Today I had my 8th cycle of folfox and avastin and I had a hypersensitivity reaction to oxaliplatin just 15-20 minutes after infusion started. They had to stop chemo and I was given Benadryl and steroids. The fellow who came to see me called my oncologist who decided to only continue with L...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

I found this article that shows there is a benefit to extended lymphadenectomy for isolated extra regional lymph nodes metastasis. It is also a relatively recent article. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of research on this and perhaps this is the reason for the different approaches by doctors regardi...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

Hi Msusta, I completely agree with you and apparently there are different schools of thought when it comes to lymph node removal. Some believe that it increases survival benefit while others do not. My surgeon believes that there is a survival benefit and mentioned that if the chemo works and there ...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

Hi AT, I could see that most of the olymphian’s on the forum have only para-aortic node disease. In my situation, on top of para-aortic, I have lower posterior mediastinal lymph nodes that had decreased from 1.2 cm to 7 mm. Also, I have small scattered retrocrural lymph nodes. Also, I have left supr...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

Hi Achilles Torn, Thank you so much for your response, I’m really sorry for the late reply. I also got your PM, but I still can’t PM back. I was wondering, in your opinion do you think the effect of Xeloda is the same as 5fu infusion because my oncologist wants me to continue on folfox plus avastin ...

Re: Stg 4 para aortic and Iliac Lymph Nodes

Hi Achilles Torn, I am from Ontario, Canada and recently joined the forum. I tried to PM you, but it didn’t allow me to use that feature. I was diagnosed at the end of April with recto sigmoid adenocarcinoma at the age of 44. I had surgery and a CT scan confirmed that I was stage IV with metastasis ...
