Re: Percentage Of Colon/Rectal Cancer That Metastasis To The Liver?

Be it far from me to question MSK ..... BUTT that number seems much higher than I have seen over the years Since I have been here (2008), nowhere near 70% of posting members had liver mets JMO I would look deeper into the numbers and get more info before throwing in the towel, metaphoricall...

On the up side, you don't have one now, and many liver mets can be removed one way or another, especially if they are found when small. Which is an argument for regular scans in followup.

Very depressing :(

Percentage Of Colon/Rectal Cancer That Metastasis To The Liver?

https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/types/liver-metastases “Most liver metastases start as cancer in the colon or rectum. Up to 70 percent of people with colorectal cancer eventually develop liver metastases. This happens in part because the blood supply from the intestines is connected directly to th...

Re: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy After CRT

I looked into HBOT but not offered anywhere near me. I chose high dose IV vitC and still take it one year later. For me it is hands down the best for wound healing (tissue repair), immunity and overall health. Let me know how HBOT goes. Hmmmmmm........I’ll look into the vit c also. How often are yo...

Re: Is W&W an option for a partial response

My biopsy results came in today from Cleveland Clinic. Benign. Going to msk for confirmation. I started crying when I read the report. That’s awesome!! Congrats. You have no idea of the bullet you’ve just dodged! Well.........primary tumor had a complete response, but possible tumor deposits appear...

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy After CRT

Hi All I have been suffering TERRIBLY from proctitis 8 months after radiation ended, and one month after 8 cycles of FOLFOX ended. I have stenosis, friable necrotic tissue, and multiple ulceration which not only aren’t getting better, they’re getting worse. I can barely walk at the moment. I am sche...

Re: Primary Tumor Had A Complete Response But Tumor Deposits Now On MRI?

I'm sorry, I think I just saw something beginning with 'l" and assumed liver. Whatever they picked up on the mri is about an inch higher than the primary tumor (which had a complete response) I am PRAYING it is inflammation or tumor debris as it wasn’t there in August. It’s bad news if it is t...

Re: Primary Tumor Had A Complete Response But Tumor Deposits Now On MRI?

I don't know if this is your first MRI, but more will show up in the liver with an MRI than a CT scan. Also the liver loves to throw up weird little things that are non-cancerous. So don't freak out about this. If it turns out that you do indeed have small active mets in your liver, they can be tre...

Re: Surgery or no?

Looking for thoughts on my current situation. To recap, my long term treatment plan is to do chemotherapy for life and that’s all I’ve had since diagnosis. I still have the primary tumor, lymph nodes and lung nodules. My scan from June showed everything stable except some lymph nodes. My latest sca...

SEE YOUR GI

I was passing blood clots a couple of months ago, and ended up in the hospital er in need of an overnight transfusion.

Hemoglobin had fallen to 8.

Whatever it is, I hope it’s minor and forgotten about this time next week.

Make sure you are watched carefully.
Like CRguy says "You miss more by not looking....than not knowing"

MSK is going to biopsy the suspected lesion dec 2

I have been, and am DESPERATE, to avoid surgery/colostomy.

Re: Primary Tumor Had A Complete Response But Tumor Deposits Now On MRI?

I had a PET that showed it after neoadjuvant but it was not noted on the report (I'm guessing because of low SUV), just my surgeon telling me about it after the MRI before surgery. Thank you!! The weird thing is this.......you guys had surgery and THEN they saw the possible TDs. Ive had total neoad...

Re: Primary Tumor Had A Complete Response But Tumor Deposits Now On MRI?

It was considered I might have had some scattered tumor deposits (no significant SUV uptake) but right before surgery nothing showed up so it was radiation damage or dead cancer thanks to radiation. I can't be scientific because it was a yr ago but thats my layman experience with the idea I had som...

Re: Hi new here - CRC Stage IIIb

Contact Dr Paul Romessar at memorial sloan kettering in ny and see if you can get into a clinical trial for m3814. Then, do chemoradiation/trial drug, take a month off, then do folfox chemotherapy. This combination melted away a 6cm tumor although I am not out of the woods yet (possible tumor deposi...
