Re: Colon Resection Recovery

I feel a pulling feeling and I am unable to button my pants or wear a belt. I would like to know if anyone has had similar problems. I also feel like a cold feeling or sensation on my private parts. Please respond if you are feeling the same so that I can know its a normal process. Hi Luis. I felt ...

That conclusion was drawn by the OP, not the researchers, as far as I can tell.

Re: OT college degree less chance of cancer

All due respect, I don't think you read the whole article. It points out facts, which aren't bs, they are just facts...then it goes on to explain an hypothesis to explain the gap. "Most people I know don't fit into that category" does not change the statistics that most people don't fit in...

Re: Ramblings: Do other cancer patients tick you off?

This thread is beautiful and productive. It's great to see people speaking frankly and respectfully about such an emotional issue. This forum is the best! :D Just remember that the Stage # does not always exactly describe how medically difficult treatment will be for that individual. As I mentioned ...

Re: Ramblings: Do other cancer patients tick you off?

I still find it totally understandable that someone with an advanced stage of any disease would have a few feelings of, "Why me and not her?" It's quite normal, a very well-known part of the anger stage of grief. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%BCbler-Ross_model Just remember that the St...

Please sign petition--Pico-Salax approval-USA

If you do a search here and on other colorectal support forums, you will find many discussions about Pico-Salax and its lack of approval for sale in the USA. [ example ] If you want to know the background, check out the blurb I wrote on this petition. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to find out the stat...

Re: Ramblings: Do other cancer patients tick you off?

I've only gotten ticked off with one person who had some "precancerous" cells that were watched but never developed into cancer. She was never diagnosed with cancer and never went through any treatments or surgeries, but she tells everyone she had cancer and is a cancer survivor. I know s...

Re: Ramblings: Do other cancer patients tick you off?

For example: I would get POed when a lady at a cancer survivor group I attended came every week for her stage 1 cancer. She would drone on and on while sitting next to the young dad with stage IV pancreatic. It just ticked me off. Another lady with stage 1 is a fixture on another forum I frequented...

Re: Please help me deal with an insensitive person

My favorite response: "Oh dear. I couldn't imagine discussing that with you." :P BTW...I know this is not the intended topic of this thread, but I wanted to thank you for sharing your story of not being back to normal after years. When I had my resection, all I heard repeatedly was everyth...

Thinking of you all :)

I became a survivor 1.5 years ago and am still cancer-free. I don't come here very often any more...so many of you don't "know" me...but I wanted to pop in anyway and let you know I am thinking of you and wishing you the best. I know things can be especially challenging at the holiday seas...

Re: Obama-Care is "in the House !"

032310 = One of the top 5 best days of my life. I wept. If I was the tattooing kind, I'd tattoo those numbers on myself. I've been lobbying for an end to lifetime caps, pre-existing condition exclusions, and unethical practices by the insurance industry who gets rich by exploiting Americans. I start...

Re: Did you or do you smoke

No but I was exposed to highly concentrated levels of secondhand smoke in the workplace and at home. The surgeon mentioned it was a factor. Of course there is no way to prove the cause of any individual case of cancer, but aggregate data proves a correlation. I have no other risk factors--vegetarian...

2 years later & thank you

Hello, all. I joined this forum 2 yrs ago after I was diagnosed with Stage 0 colon cancer at age 39. This forum helped me tremendously and I cannot say how much it meant to me....even though most of my time here was lurking. It is both the anniversary of my survivor date as well as awareness month, ...
