Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

After my surgeon removed my colon cancer. He had a serious talk with me to the effect that he had been removing cancers for a very long time and he had rarely encountered one as aggressive as mine. He said straight out I am sorry it will get you probably within three years. I was absolutely certain ...

another anniversary

Another year ,still cancer free. My cancer was removed on this day in 1998. I have survived cancer free for twenty years. I have been very fortunate to get this far and there has been a lot of collateral damage along the way. I spent the second day of this year in hospital after collapsing at home w...

Re: Anxiety and questions about follow up and tubular adenoma

At my last scope (three and a half years from the previous one) They removed four tubular adenomas the biggest 11 mm. They had all grown in under four years. Both my GI and my Nephrologist were happy that they were tubular adenomas. They both agreed that they are the least likely to turn. All of min...

Re: auto immune disorder after chemo

Since cancer and chemo I have developed a nasty range of auto- immune problems. I guess the worst is auto- immune nephrotic syndrome of the kidneys. Without treatment I lose up to 8 grams of protein a day thru my urine. I take cyclosporine twice a day and it has reduced my protein loss. I have what ...

Re: oxaliplatin side effects - 9 years after treatment

I never had any of the platinum drugs. I had chemo when late stage3 was being treated with a combination of %fu enhanced aevery second week with 9 tablets of levamisole. Levamisole was in the family of drugs called immune modulators. It was banned for human use in 2001 for sometimes fatal side effec...
