6 Months Post Semi Colectomy

6 months ago I had surgery to remove a high dysplasia polyp that was extremely big. They removed 8" of my sigmoid colon area. I'm only 27 years old by the way. Surgery went fine and the healing process went smoothly. 6 months later I'm now seeing streaks of blood in my stool and sometimes mucus....

Re: Worries of colon cancer, colonoscopy is being arranged.

I kinda was going through the exact same thing. Swore up and down I had cancer or a chronic disease. Turns out it was just a huge polyp that was causing everything to go wrong. My symptoms lasted a year before I got it checked. Just had surgery to get it out and although its been a painful recovery ...

Post Op Questions(Colectomy)

Had my sigmoid colon removed a week ago almost. Im having trouble with constipation even though I'm taking a stool softener. Did have two movements today and there was dark red blood streaked in with the stool. That is ok correct? My doctors office is closed today so I can't call him about it but I'...

Re: Hope vs reality

I want to be hopeful. Very much so. It is what we are supposed to do. At the same time, I know based on what doctors tell me and what I can figure out online, is that I don't have a lot of time left (maybe a year). How the f#@k are you supposed to live like this?!?! I want to be hopeful, but that i...

Re: Huge High Grade Dysplasia Polyp

Well the polyp was removed Feb 13th 2020. Had the Colectomy (no bag) and he said everything looked really good. He said there was nothing growing on the outside of the colon like you would see at stage 2. He said worst case scenario the polyp is stage 1 and if so it's already been removed as well as...

Colectomy Question

I had a Colectomy a few days ago and just came home yesterday. The incision looks ok but where it goes around my belly button there seems to be a blood blister forming there. Anyone else have experience with that ? Is it ok ? Or should I call the doctor?

PostOp Sigmoid colectomy

I just had an open sigmoid colectomy and I'm just curious to see what others dealt with. 4 hours out of surgery and I feel tons of pressure in my abdomen and it hurts to cough. Every now and again I'll get a super sharp pain for a second but I'm pretty sure it's related to the gas.

Re: Huge High Grade Dysplasia Polyp

Also the surgeon was pretty optimistic about it not being late stage cancer but can he really tell just by looking at it?

Huge High Grade Dysplasia Polyp

I'm 27 years old and just had my first colonoscopy a week ago due to some blood in stools. After I woke he said he found a HUGE polyp that he couldn't get with the colonoscopy cause it was the flat type. He also said he took A LOT of biopsies. Went to the surgeons office and he said the biopsy showe...
