Re: New Blog Post - "Friend, Foe or Family?"

Very well written Belle. Some of the aspects of your story hit home with me as it relates to my husband's family. There are no close ties, and its OK with them. I find it strange to not have family "closeness" however, it appears to be somewhat common. When my brother was first diagnosed, ...

Referral Please

My friend is currently going through breast cancer and really needs a support group like this. I've been a member here for several years and love the fact that everyone can lean on each other for support, experience and friendship. Can you guys please lead me to a good site? Nothing (in my opinion) ...

Re: My tumor was wrapped around my appendix...

When my brother went to the emergency room, his appendix was burst and that's when he was first diagnosed with colon cancer, the tumor was very obvious. They tried chemotherapy to shrink it and when they finally were able to perform surgery, they couldn't because there was another just behind it. I ...

Re: The Final Four

UCONN is only 20 minutes from my home sooooooooo GO UCONN. Several times over the years people stand over the bridges of I-84 when they arrive from a winning championship and wave, cheer and make it a typical fan day. I live off the exit they take to go back to campus. It's fun.

Re: Family putting off scopes because of prep problems

It's very sad to see some families stick their head in the sand as it relates to this issue; you can lead the horse to water but it's up to them to drink. When my brother was diagnosed at 44 I procrastinated a year before I got screened. I had 3 pre-cancerous and 3 "normal" polyps, one bro...

Re: My Brother

I too am a member of the colon club due to my brother. I needed a place to find comfort and understanding. My brother was diagnosed at the age of 44 with stage IV colon cancer and lived for 4 years dealing with two in-operable tumors. He lived in Colorado and me in Connecticut so most of the time my...

I'm sure this is Jeremiah; he was a real inspiration to this club and always upbeat. It makes me sad so sad to hear this, cancer sucks. :(
