Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

My ct scan did show a mass on my right adrenal gland which they are calling an incidental finding at this time cause it doesn’t seem to be associated with the Cancer, so one worry now shifts to another. Was this the only other CT scan finding? Most likely it's not that bad. Most people have a lot o...

Re: FOR REFERENCE - treatment of adrenal metastases

Claudine, any information you are willing to share at this point would be appreciated. I see your husband went to a urologist for his? I'm being told I need to see an endocrinologist is there a reason that he was sent to a different specialilty? I know your husband's was shrunk before surgery was th...

Re: FOR REFERENCE - treatment of adrenal metastases

At this point I'm waiting to meet with my oncologist next Tuesday. I just jumped ahead of the game and read the reports on my own so naturally freaked myself out, fearing the worst. He is the overly cautious type (which is good) but I know he is gonna through around words that are hard to hear no ma...

Re: FOR REFERENCE - treatment of adrenal metastases

It said the SUV was 9 and had no signal dropout. The impression was written as consideration of metastases or adrenal corticol carcinoma. My test for lynch hasn't come back yet I meet with my doctor next Tuesday, but my brothers came back with MAP so my genetic counselor believes that's most likely ...

Re: FOR REFERENCE - treatment of adrenal metastases

Ok so I'm having a little bit of a freak out. I had an MRI and PET scan done to look closer at my adrenal nodule. The size came back as 3.2cmx2.3cm. Based on the medical terminology I'm reading in the report it sounds like this could be an a met from my colon cancer (which maybe someone can explain ...

Re: Lynch syndrome questions

Hey Boxhill, Thanks for always replying to my posts by the way. I have an appointment set up with a genetic counselor next Tuesday. The whole genetics thing has thrown me for a loop. My oncologist did mention the idea of a hysterectomy depending on what my genetic tests come back with. I mean I’ve h...

Hemoclip/ MRI question

Short story: Has anyone every had hemoclips put in after a colonoscopy? Were you able to get an MRI? Long Story: I had three hemoclips put in after my colonoscopy. A note was added to my account that I should not get an MRI. So the one radiology franchise that my insurance will allow won't give me t...

Lynch syndrome questions

Hi. So my brother and I both were diagnosed with colon cancer a week apart. I’m 35. He is 34. Luckily both caught early. Me stage 1 and him early stage 2. I’m being tested for lynch syndrome. Which my oncologist already assumes it is. My questions are for anyone who has lynch syndrome. How were you ...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Isolated adrenal mets are uncommon in mCRC, but they happen (see my signature!). I really hope what the scan caught is just benign (quite common), but should it be otherwise, I’ve done a lot of research on them (which I’ll post in a new thread soon) and there are excellent treatment options these d...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Any update on your brother's pathology? Hey! Yes his turned out to be early stage 2. I believe he meets with his oncologist on the 14th to see what thoughts will be on further treatment. I met with my oncologist today for the first time. He seems super thorough. He believes we might have lynch synd...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Good morning Malidosa, How did your appointment go Friday.? Do you have pathology results yet? Hoping all is well and your feeling better. Hi Deb, thanks for checking in. I spoke with my doctor on Friday about pathology. Feeling fortunate I was staged at stage 1. The mass was the size of a golf bal...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

I hope you start to feel better soon. Have you been released to go home? Did your doctor say what the next step is? Jay Yes I’ve been home for 2 days now. Just have a lot of soreness in my back. I think I’m over compensating for not wanting to strain my stomach muscles. I follow up with my doctor t...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Was it an open or a laparoscopic surgery? When do they expect a histology report? It was robotic right colectomy. But also I’m suffering from what they think is an anal fissure. Which is what started this whole thing otherwise I would have had no normal symptoms of cancer. So the fissure is becomin...

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Glad everything went well and that your up and walking around! Yes, my husband passed a lot of clots and very dark brown/red dried crusty blood for the first day or two. Keep us updated. The beast has been removed! So far it’s all been a little more exhausting then I thought it would be. Everyone k...
