Re: Lynch syndrome questions

Supportivechild, why doesn't she want to do the blood test? Does she understand that if she is negative that it means that you and any siblings you might have can't have it? It would be excellent for your peace of mind. On the other hand, if she does have it, you would be in a position to get teste...

Re: 33 years old, mucus, blood and nerves!

Hello, I would say try not to worry but I know its extremely hard not to. You had a CT of what? My mother went to the ER for bleeding as well and they didn't notice anything on the CT. The colposcopy will definitely give you some answers. Thank you so much for reading and replying! They did a CT wi...

Re: Lynch syndrome questions

My mother just did her genetic counseling today. She was told that based on her family history with cancer and her biopsy results her cancer has no genetic component. They suggest the blood test to check for the lynch syndrome which could be linked to her aunt who died from stomach cancer or her gra...

I hope you start to feel better soon. Have you been released to go home? Did your doctor say what the next step is?

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

So surgery went well. Spent yesterday groggy. Told I am SORE!!! Guess I didn’t really know what to expect as I’ve never had surgery but yeah my stomach feels like it’s done several rounds with a baseball bat. I’ve been up walking but trying to get the body back awake. I’ve passed a bunch of blood c...

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Hi Malidosa, Sorry you have to be here, but it the best place for questions and support. Fissure - I did have one which was overlooked by my first GI doc and first surgeon, but identified by my second surgeon. (Changed surgeons in the middle of treatment and was very happy with my second.) Incredib...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Just wanted to report I had another six monthly follow up last week. The results of both the MRI and the flex sig were fine. That's now 4 1/2 years NED since the end of my radiation treatment. Apparently I get one more six monthly follow up and then go annually after that. My Doctor told me at thei...

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Malidosa, I've noticed that treatment differs based on the location of the mass. Most likely after your surgery they will order the scans and go from there. Did your doctors explain the process after your surgery? [/quote] Yeah from what I can gather it appears that way too. My mass is at the base ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Second try and I was able to get my heartrate up to 135 on the second time out. I only did 3 miles at a moderate pace but I think that heartrate gains are doable. The thing is the balance. I got in 4 miles running today and 3 miles cycling and both felt great. I do want to increase speed and distan...

Re: In need of metastasis education

I'm glad I located this post. Since my mother was DX I've been wanting to learn and much as possible. She's the complete opposite. She doesn't want to know anything because of her nerves. So far her CT abdomen / pelvis says her liver appears normal. We are just waiting on the chest CT and PET Scan....

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Malidosa, I hope your day gets a little better for you! I was excited to find out that everything was normal and "unremarkable" with my mother CT abdomen-pelvis. I read the entire report and highlighted every area that was checked and considered normal. It's the what if that gets me every...
