Re: Since this appears so promising, why are there no thread

of course i totally agree you have to have the supplements coordinated and my own doctor makes sure of that. as a person working in clinical dietetics i did coumadin teaching. some of the people had been on coumadin for years and knew nothing about the vit k aspect of it. As far as Dr. Oz, you can s...

Re: Since this appears so promising, why are there no thread

thanks. looks like i am a bad searcher... i actually have a degree in nutrition but have been out of the clinical field for a couple of years so hadn't seen this one come across my radars.. i find it intriguing when a supplement comes out with promise but that clinical studies never come into fruiti...

Since this appears so promising, why are there no threads?

i have seen this supplement described as short of amazing for cancer and that it actually induces processes that can kill cancer. it is recommended by my own oncologist and Dr. Oz and although the link to this article is a little older, i am just curious if anyone has heard anything new on this supp...

Re: finally staged...not good news, need info

first i just want to comment on the stage II vs stage III thing, and one thing to consider as well is that often stage II cancers are bigger and deeper than stage III's. for instance someone might have a huge T4 tumor and be stage II if there are no nodes, but you can have a small T1 tumor with one ...

Re: Ladies, why didn't you mention sex or dilators

thanks to this forum i knew going into radiation that i would need dilators, however hAD I not mentioned it to my doc myself, they would have never told me about this side effect. Radiation was really really rough on me and i was not able to use the dilators until well after radiation had finished a...

Re: Why do I keep worrying about this and what can I do abou

i think my initial one showed uptake as well but did not subsequently. i had radiation so alot going on down there. have also had uptake in areas such as shoulders where the pet said likely inflammation. that was all like 3 1/2 to 4 years ago. i am curious of your signature and maybe i have asked th...

Re: stastistics-believe or not to believe

i like memorial sloan ketterings calculator best as it is the most specific to exact lymph nodes etc.. just remember for those reading this it is only for use for stage 3 colon and not rectal cancer patients. I am stage IIIa and it gives me 98 percent chance of beating this but then i only had 5 per...

Re: OT Type 2 Diabetes Diagnosis

i have been having issues with blood sugars since ending chemo too and my last A1C was just above the diagnostic limit. I have a prescription for metformin but cannot get myself to take it for fear of having to deal with diarrhea and nausea and cramping etc. I am 6 months post a massive hernia opera...

Re: Surgery for Stage 3 N 1 Rectal Cancer

i worked in a hospital for 28 years and i cannot even begin to tell you how many people are told they need a permanent colostomy and then go for a second opinion and they are told about a procedure that the other surgeon didn't even know about half the time and they avoid the colostomy. i would make...

Re: fissure

oh does this bring back memories. i have posted on this quite a bit in this forum. i had a fissure for almost a year. i experienced unimaginable torture because my radiation onc did not think i had a fissure. i had constant throbbing too and would have to spend the majority of my day sitting on a he...

Re: Stage 3 cc cancer , anyone had a reoccurrence ?? 2 nodes

JIm's wife: yes, you need the pathology report. My polyp was not removed during colonoscopy because it was in a curve in the rectosigmoid junction and it was too big. the doctor doing the colonoscopy told us i had a large polyp about 1 inch in size and he believed it to be sessile. he said it looks ...

Re: Stage 3 cc cancer , anyone had a reoccurrence ?? 2 nodes

to answer the questions asked of me: first, the 96 percent chance was given to me by mayo clinic onc, back home onc, radiation onc and verified by the sloan kettering calculator which you can find in the link below... i think it actually gives me 97 percent for 5 years and 96 for 10 years. my whole ...
