Re: Any update on Galeen

I don't post much and often don't get to read new posts for days. But I've tried to keep up with most people. Noticed Galen hasn't posted in a while...... I'm try to live my life while my mother is trying to force me to eat. Not a winnining situatuaation. ;) BTW not a win-win. and it's G-a-e...

Re: Things to do and NOT do for the sick people in your life

Maybe I should hang on to these links, and post them in May and October when the next round of anti-pink comes back up. Amazazing, the similarities! ;)

Re: Chemo finally getting to the taste buds

Wrote you a long post this A.M. BB. But my phone blew it away - eh! Anyway, sounds more like anticipatory nausea to me, which is a true PITA. Mine got so bad on Erbitux that I HAD to learn how to deal with it before it killed me. Good skill to have in have in your pocket. Love pickeled herring; love...

Re: Bill5107 home and pain free!

Once heard a lecture by someone who dealt with severe psychiatric/emotional/physical abuse patients. HE'S COMPARING ME TO MENTAL PATIENTS AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT? And I'm both quoting him - and agreeing with him - which hasn't happened since around 2008. A serious rarity.  On...

Re: Cause for Concern?

Isn't your twin JBinNJ? And didn't she post somewhere early on that she was a smoker? CEA elevates during chemo, even in non-smokers. And you can also google "abbott" to confirm CRguy's reply that abbot isn't a scale, it's a lab.
So, as Fletch points out, not so much a concern.

Re: Bill5107 home and pain free!

Bill, having just lived through my own most (to date) excruciating trip to interventional rad Monday, PLEASE just freakin' ask, the fat is, there may be a liveable solution out there you just haven't thought of. You don't need to break yourself further! And please don't try to out think your docs on...

Re: On Why Published Clinical Trial Data Should be Made Publ

Let's stay on topic. This is not about literally making data 'public'. And it's not about patients. By making public what is meant is that a kind of institutional governance is being discussed, not a two toned brochure for the doctors waiting room. ...So the argument goes that in the absence of an ...

Re: Told no more Chemo and sent to discuss Pallative care

I know that things like what gets covered by the national healthcare system vary by country, and maybe one of our Australian members can step up and speak to this. Basically, stage 4B treatment (mets to multiple organs) is or should be treated as palliative from the beginning. No, your BIL doesn't h...

Re: On Why Published Clinical Trial Data Should be Made Publ

Well, I'm not Jeremy, but I can tell you after watching the members of this and several other forums for the last eight years, that in my experience, little/no good comes of providing deep scientific data (raw data) to non-medically-trained patients in any environment where you aren't also prepared ...

Re: Ever feel like you are surrounded by emotional vampires?

After waiting for my boss to come back from vacation so that I can tell him about my diagnosis, I finally went public with my social circle that I have a liver met and that I'll be going in for a resection on the 28th. I find it so weird that there are others out there who would take my diagnosis w...

Re: green tea, turmeric, selenium, and aspirin

Soo, basically, these guys have drawn CRC prevention conclusions for this concoction without ever having tested it long-term in a double-blind controlled clinical trial in humans (animal models aren't the same kind of design.) I'd be very careful, especially while on chemo, about adding ANY suppleme...

Re: I ALMOST DIED today...

Today, I woke up very early, I had to go get the PT / SCAN of my father, went to the hospital running, and I withdraw the report and tomographic images. I almost died, I saw 3 images hypodense of 2 cm each in the segment VI. He received his last round of chemo the last week of April, less than one ...

Re: Cancer and Faith?

What do you think of starting a new thread/topic that you could maybe help people struggling with faith, or help in understanding God 's plan in all of this? People that don't believe in God do not have to read it, but those of us who do, might be comforted by your inspiring words. If there is any ...
