Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

Back with an update. And my husband’s partner of 20 years and the best man at our wedding fired him today. Why? Because he has not been “all in” since my diagnosis (in spite of working 60-70 hour work weeks, traveling when I had surgery, etc). Happy clients and happy team but they don’t count becau...

Re: Vectibix trick (maybe)

Thanks for the tip!! Jesper will probably be starting back on Vectibix again and we definitely want to give it a try! His rash was brutal last time too, so if this helps that would be amazing.

Re: Has Anyone Any Experience With The Joe Tippens Protocol?

I don't want to scare anyone, but I think it's important to mention that quite a few people have experienced progression in liver mets while on this protocol. It seems to work well for lung cancer in some cases, and possibly other cancers. But for anyone with liver mets, I would be careful and do m...

Thank you.

I’m almost sorry I started the thread now.

Don't be! Lots of people have had success with it. It's up to everyone to do their own research.

Re: Covid and the non-believers

No one wears masks in Denmark, not even at the hospital. I guess it's different from country to country? With my boyfriend, we just make sure we're not close to anyone who is sick, since asymptomatic spread isn't that common. Sometimes I wish my bf would be a little more careful, but I realized I ca...

Re: Update (treatments & CEA)

Hi Rachel! Thanks for the update. Been thinking about you lately! My boyfriend had the WORST reflux on FOLFIRI. Mainly around the treatment days. FOLFIRI really does a number on any mucous membranes and guess what, that's the entire digestive tract. My boyfriend got some relief from aloe ver...

Re: We've lost Ben (Pyro70)

Oh no, so sorry to hear this. Always so sad to lose a member, especially someone as helpful and active like Pyro70.

I've been thinking about Pyro too. He hasn't been online/active since December. I hope he's ok!

Re: No more chemo?

Wow, crazy times indeed. I hope you all are coping all right. In a way it feels like we (caregivers and patients) are freaking out LESS than the rest of the population, although we are the ones who actually have something to worry about. It's funny, I feel like the worst thing has already happened s...

Re: No more chemo?

Thinking of you . It sure is new territory with this virus . Hope you get home safely and keep chemo going till this settles . Stay safe , Stu Yeah it's pretty crazy. Like a dystopian science fiction novel. Cancer or corona virus is manageable. But both?? Hoping we don't get stuck in Denmar...

Re: No more chemo?

And just as we were planning our trip to MSK, I got an email from them saying they are not accepting International patients due to the corona virus. Such bad timing! Hopefully it blows over soon. I was thinking about you and the travel ban from Europe... Just what you needed :( I knoooowwww ...

Re: No more chemo?

I thought of you immediate when I read the news this morning about the travel ban to the US. Such terrible timing! There’s a major panic here in the Netherlands with people stocking up after the government announced a semi lockdown this afternoon. I hope you guys are prepared for it (on top of all ...

Amazing news!! I've heard the CEA often rises after surgery due to inflammation in the body, so it's great news that his is coming down!

Re: No more chemo?

A little update from us - Jesper is back on FOLFIRI and we are currently in Budapest for some oxygen treatment. (We come here once in a while - seems to at least alleviate some of his side effects). FOLFIRI definitely hits him harder than FOLFOX did. Hopefully that means it hits his cancer harder to...

Re: Me again, my fave topic: CEA

If it's in the normal range, I wouldn't worry at ALL. Unless it was SUPER stable in a lower range and then suddenly shot up. Just like any other blood test, there is a normal RANGE, which means that anywhere within those limits is normal and not a cause for concern. Unless there was an obvious trend...
