Re: Finally consults in the works

Hi beach sunrise,

Glad to hear your first consult went well. I have had several opinions and it has surprised me sometimes how different the doctors can be.
Wishing you a good 2nd consult.

Kind Regards,
Vana

Re: Vit D and immunotherapy

There was a study at Yale and Dana Farber, it was small group study but it showed Vitamin D is beneficial not sure if that benefit includes stage VI BUT I take it... why not?

Re: Energy

Hi! I think that NHMike had some great suggestions. Especially around sleep and finding some help with the kids. I am 4 1/2 months out from chemo and 3ish months since liver resection, my energy is not the same as it was but slowly slowly it’s coming back. My husband takes care of our toddler in the...

Re: First bad scan

So sorry to hear about your scan news. I am 12 weeks out from liver surgery and have had a scan that was clear but with areas to watch and now I had a CEA spike and am headed for an unplanned scan tomorrow to see if somethings going on. I have read a lot of stories on hear about individuals treating...

Re: Discouraging scans after liver resection, advice needed

Thanks Dave! Your advice was right on... Now I am figuring out a crazy CEA spike from 4.6 to 8.6 MSK thinks it’s nothing and have blood work done again in 4 weeks. But our onc. at big cancer center wants another CT scan. (Going in on Tuesday) My Cea has never been reliable indicator 4.6 pre liver re...

Re: Discouraging scans after liver resection, advice needed

Well guys I have an update My surgeon reviewed the scans and says the spot is post surgical changes and that it will again be watched & evaluated at the next scan in September. We also have our main onc. who is at a major cancer center and she said it was nothing to be concerned about... chemo b...

Re: Discouraging scans after liver resection, advice needed

Dave, Thank you, your message gives me hope and made me feel a little more calm. I think the moral of your story is something I might need to heed as well. The community clinic onc. did not have much to say other than we really needed the surgeons opinion because the suspicious area bordered the abl...

Discouraging scans after liver resection, advice needed

Hi everyone I am in need of advice and and others experience and stories. 8 weeks ago I had a liver resection 3 small tumors were removed (2 small sections) and 3 were ablated (all three were so small no longer seen on scans but found with internal liver ultrasound during surgery). Re: Stage 4 for 4 years, looking for advice

Hi Michelle, I am in the first year of diagnosis and so we have done lots of research but still just on the journey. There is quite a bit of evidence to support watch and wait. I have a similar view towards everything as you do. Would you be willing to share what you did with diet when you said you ...
