Re: rachelfromnyc

Couldn’t sleep last night. The news really hit hard.

Beach sunrise —I did a Google search and found her gofundme page. Great news is it has reached its goal, but I am too late to donate as it’s closed. I’ll do a donation to the colon club on her behalf.

Re: rachelfromnyc

Devastating news… she was the same age as me and we shared many DMs together, giving each other encouragement. Absolutely heartbreaking :( A gofundme has been set up for a park bench in Central Park. It was her favorite place. "Central Park Memorial for Rachel Lee Seraspe" if anyone would ...

Hey everyone, In spring of 2019, a year after we got married, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with extensive distant lymph nodes involvement and was given 2 years to live. Today, my husband received his CT scan results after 40 rounds of chemo (mostly maintenance), and remains in ...

Re: stage 4 with extensive lymph nodes involvement

Hi Susan I can empathise with you because your husband’s diagnosis is identical to mine — I am in my late 30s, I think we’re probably around the same age too? My husband responded very well to Xelox and is now on maintenance chemo (TS-1) and Avastin. He’s very well now, NED and on a 3 months CT scan...

Re: Diet & survival - where are we at?

I think we metabolise food differently, so there’s no one size fits all diet. My husband has been healthy pretty much his whole life — He was vegetarian on most days and would have seafood sometimes. As for meat, he only eats lean fillet steak or beef burger, but that’s once every 2-3 weeks. Unfortu...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Hello everyone, Sorry I haven’t been logging on as much (due to personal reasons) but here’s an update on my husband’s vaccine trial. More than a month ago, my husband had his blood drawn to test the level of antibodies, and about 2 weeks ago, the hospital called and invited him for his 3rd shot. In...

Re: 3rd covid vaccine

My husband is getting his 3rd shot this coming Monday. We’re based in the Netherlands. The gov has begun inviting high risk groups. By January 2022 all 60-80s will be invited and once that cohort is done, it will be open to all 60 and under. I personally know many people who got their 3rd shot (US, ...

My husband’s liver enzymes never recovered. Many of the readings are still in the red — he’s currently on maintenance chemo.
