Re: HELP its grown. Please I'm sick I can't breath

Deep breath. You are ok and your baby is ok. Its perfectly ok go go and wake up your mum when you are struggling. It's ok for your little one to see you sad about you being sick, he's feeling sad too. This whole situation is wrong. Is there something you can think of that helps decrase your panic, m...

Re: Does anyone NOT feel supported

Thank you for the replies. I have been very surprised by the attitude he has taken. Yes he may just not be able to deal with any of this and is lashing out. I've been pushing for him to get some therapy I really feel he needs it. It just feels like a constant battle and I'm not interested in that. M...

Does anyone NOT feel supported

So background is my family and close friends live in another country. Live with spouse and small kids in Canada, a few good friends but not life long childhood friends type thing. Spouse has narcissistic tendencies. Stage 4, not on treatment. I'm really struggling with my support system right now. I...

Re: Suggestions on where to go and what to do next

Thanks for the replies. Feeling slightly better today, I'm beginning to suspect I've got a bug from the kids as one of them is starting to get sick too. I decided to keep my appointment with the surgeon despite my oncologist thinking I should cancel. I really want some firm answers on why I'm not su...

Suggestions on where to go and what to do next

Be warned I'm all doom and gloom right now :( I had my last chemo on Thursday and have fallen into a bit of a funck feeling sorry for my self. I'm sure it will pass in a couple of days but until then I thought I would do something constructive and ask you wonderful people for some guidance before I ...

Re: Currently in the ER...woo.

Soft hugs Amy. My kids are 2,4,6 and 8. It makes my heart hurt so bad that this is their life now. I've been sick half my two year olds life and she just takes the chemo bottles and shots and hospital visits as normal. And it should never have to be that way. But as someone who also saw their mother...

Re: Things I should know about Avastin

Thanks for the info guys. You were way more informative than the doctors. Had my first folfiri session. I'm ok, super tired and had a nose bleed this morning. I'm really struggling with the Grastofil injection right now, the first one each session is always incredibly painful on my joints. Better th...

Re: Things I should know about Avastin

Thanks for the replies. My nurse actually told me the side effects would be worse so it's encouraging to know that might not be the case. i guess we will wait and see.

Re: Stage IV parents with young child(ren)

I have four small children. And the sadness really can be overwhelming at times. But I think that it's absolutely healthy to feel that way and scream and cry about it because it sucks. The thing is it's more exhausting to feel that way all the time and it's not healthy for anyone. There is joy and h...

Things I should know about Avastin

So I start chemo on Tuesday and this time we are taking out the oxaliplatin and adding Avastin. I have been warned this has worse side effects. I won't be getting a full list of side effects until Monday but I have googled already. So is there anything I can do to make this easier on myself? I will ...

Re: UPDATED Back On chemo - Every ache and pain becoming related to Cancer

Got my pathology on the fluid back and as expected confirmed the cancer. I won't know the ct results until Monday but I spoke to my NP and we came up with a plan for chemo. I will start Tuesday. I am feeling so much better since talking to her. I hate having to wait in those little rooms for the doc...

Re: UPDATED Back On chemo - Every ache and pain becoming related to Cancer

Well CRguy I took your advice and asked to have a chat with my nurse practitioner. At first she wasn't too concerned as most of my issues were anemia related. But then she decided to do a physical, part of which was an MRI and she found enough fluid in my abdomen to be concerned. Went back the next ...

UPDATED Back On chemo - Every ache and pain becoming related to Cancer

Before diagnosis I was pretty relaxed about any aches or pains or illnesses. I can't even remember the last time I went to the doctor for being sick. Of course that all changed when I got diagnosed and now I feel like everything is a symptom. Every upset tummy or achy back or even early night become...
