Re: QUITING SMOKING TONIGHT :(

I smoked over two packs a day for many years. Tried the gum, patches, multiple times. I did quit six years ago with Chantix. I also believe that it is a wonder drug and was the only way that I could quit. I also downloaded a program that counts the years, months, minutes since quitting and lets me k...

Re: 5-6 cm sigmoid colon tumor?

My tumor was estimated to be 4-5 cm in diameter during the colonoscopy. I went in for surgery, had the tumor cut out and I was diagnosed as Stage 1. My surgery was three years ago today! While it was a challenge early on, now it's like it never happened (except for my fears of recurrance). Did you ...

Former chain smoker here. My CEA was 0.8 at diagnosis and I had quit smoking one year prior.

Re: Smoking

I quit 2.5 years ago with Chantix; I consider it to be a miracle drug as I had tried everything elso with no success. Still not smoking.

Re: Is a 5 cm tumor in sigmoid colon considered large?

Snophie,

Mine was 3.5 cm in the sigmoid colon. I had bleeding for about a year. I had surgery last June; 14 cm of colon was removed. I was stage 1, so no further treatment was needed. Today it's as if it never happened (knock on wood). I was 57.

Re: a little funny to share & maybe some advice?

I absolutely LOVE your story! I can relate to horrific gas. I just started the Atkins diet (only 20g of carbs/day) and I have immediately noticed the lack of gas! So, for me gas and carbs go together; maybe try cutting down. See what happens. Good Luck! Pat
