Follow up after polypectomy.

Hi everyone. I had a large polyp (3cm) removed 7 months ago. Thankfully just low grade dysplasia. Quite a bit of abdominal discomfort ever since. Just had follow up colonoscopy. It says '3 clips still attached to site of previous polypectomy. This makes assessment difficult. ? Possible small residua...

Re: Biopsy result

I know that it was a mushroom shaped polyp, but that is all. I will ask for the report.
Thanks

Biopsy result

Hello again, 3cm polyp removed. Consultant says that biopsy result shows low grade dysplasia. He recommends a follow up colonoscopy at 6 months. I should be delighted - right?!? I realise that a high percentage of polyps this size are cancerous and that so many of you have much greater problems to d...

Re: Large polyp removed

Thanks for this. Yes, it terrifies me, but it is best to know - so thanks for the warning. Hope you don't mind me asking - What further treatment did they give your mum?
Thanks again

Large polyp removed

Hi again, My first ever colonoscopy found a large 3cm polyp. Initial biopsies were benign. I had it removed this week. This was tougher and more painful than I thought and hi had to stay over night due to low blood pressure and pain from a trapped air pocket. I am feeling better now, however I am st...

Re: Terrified - 3cm polyp

I'm with the NHS in Northern Ireland. Initial biopsies are benign. The Doctor said it would be removed in several pieces.

Biopsies clear

Didn't want to disappear without letting you all know that my initial biopsies are clear. Obviously they need to thoroughly check the large polyp when they remove it in 4weeks or so, but at least things are looking positive. I just want to thank you all so much for being here for me and all the othe...

Re: Terrified - 3cm polyp

It's being removed regardless. My GI doctor told me 3cm is too risky regardless of what the biopsies reveal today. Thanks. X

Re: Rectal pressure

The GI doctor said the diverticulitis was 'slight after colonoscopy. It was discovered after a CT 5 years ago and has never been followed up with a colonoscopy until now. (I was told that most people my age had it, that it was nothing to worry about, handed a leaflet about diet and sent home). I'm w...

Rectal pressure

Hi again, Is rectal pressure normal with a large colon polyp? I had colonoscopy 5 days ago, so one large polyp confirmed (3cm) but biopsy tot back yet. Since the colonoscopy the rectal pressure has been bad, sore to sit down for too long and a feeling of bowel fullness. Thinking about it I have been...
