Re: Chemo has caught up to me yall

You could have a cumulative impact on your blood counts. After about 9 rounds of FOLFOX my hemoglobin was low and made me tired. One blood transfusion helped take care of it. Check your CBC and ask for blood if you think it could help.

Re: Worried... no poop

The OPs symptoms are non-specific. Lots of relatively benign things could cause these symptoms. You should get checked out by a qualified doctor, but stressing about cancer is premature.

Re: Bucket List

In the spirit of bucket list and cancer patients getting out and doing stuff, here is a picture of my wife and I doing our first joint kiteboarding downwinder last week. Before this picture was taken, I had spent a 11 days in the hospital with a neutropenic fever and all kinds of things going wrong....

Re: Regorafenib + Nivolumab - Immunotherapy might work in MSS CRC

FYI, I’m reposting from the MSS Facebook group. There are also two trials one can join to test this combo. Pembrolizumab should be equivalent to nivolumab and there is a trial in Southern California and Florida. There is also a trial recruiting in Florida for reg + Opdivo. NCT03712943 (rego + nivol...

Re: Regorafenib + Nivolumab - Immunotherapy might work in MSS CRC

Thank you for starting this thread, Pyro70. Today, our oncologist recommended the Regorafenib (Stivarga) + Nivolumab (Opdivo) regimen for my dad. Our onc cited this study and informed us that he has several other patients who will start this regimen under his care. My dad will start this regimen in...

Re: What do you think?

I’ve had two “r0” CRS/HIPEC procedures. I’ve had my entire colon removed and created a j-pouch that works fairly well. I’ve also dealt and am continuing to deal with major complications from surgery. Despite the r0 resection my cancer still came back. You’re view of chemo is correct- in 95% of case...

I believe this is quite normal. The doctors should confirm. The anastamosis will bleed/weep blood needs to go somewhere.

Re: Removing small liver met?

Well, the tumor board said no surgery: I'm responding well to keytruda, so just watch it. Some of them apparently said that it might not be a met at all. Scan in 3 months or so. Not only that, but due to my pretty extreme joint situation, he is going to continue to postpone Keytruda infusions for a...

Re: Bucket List

Nice! I hope you take the car all the way to SF and drive through Big Sur. You’ll enjoy those curves! I just spent 11 days in the hospital and my oncologist also gave me the “months” prognosis because I may not be able to do more chemo with my bowel leak / fistula. It left me wondering though, is th...

Re: Regorafenib + Nivolumab - Immunotherapy might work in MSS CRC

I’m linking a video that has a good discussion on this combo. One thing the presenter makes clear is that these results were really unexpected and promising, but will need to be validated (including in non-Japanese patients). He also speaks to the impressive results of the combo versus mono therapy ...

Re: Image of lymph node v of liver met on MRI

I don’t think it will be similar lymph node. Even for liver Mets not all of them present in a standard way. My radiologists thought I had a secondary cholangiocarcinoma based on how it looked in the MRI, but biopsy confirmed it to be CRC. Radiopedia should have more info on presentation of abnormal ...

Re: All all ileostomy reversals open wounds?

One option is a purse string closure that pulls the wound shut as much as possible but leaves a little opening for drainage.
