Thanks, hopie, that's a good idea. I have all my labs for the past several years. By tracking the numbers, maybe on a spreadsheet, I will be able to pick up less obvious markers.

hi zephyr, i was wondering if you ever got the time to do this?

Re: mixed mri results

I feel exactly the same. I think it's "normal" to have that kind of feeling. We've been waiting for surgery for so long! We just need to try to stay calm (easy to say...). Keep us updated! i hate this new "normal." also, mom might have surgery a bit later planned so she would ha...

Re: mixed mri results

Your mom and I will have surgery the same day! :) I wish I had a laparoscopy: for me it'll be a nice and long laparotomy (cyto-reductive surgery + HIPEC). I wish all the best for your mom. Wish me luck! Hugs, Paola i'm so happy for you Paola!! right now i'm worried sick that something will happen a...

Re: Post-surgery inflammation or new tumors?

Thank you so much for the link, checking it now. It's in my native language but I'm not familiar with the jargon so I'm barely understanding it myself. I think my translation for the MRI report is accurate. As for the surgery notes, it's called a "salpingo oophorectomy" if this makes more ...

Post-surgery inflammation or new tumors?

hello, so my mom's last mri says: "bladder's appearance is normal. at the bladder and left anterior junction, two neighboring solid, nodular, homogeneous lesions that appear as slightly hyperintense compared to muscle plans have been observed during T2 imaging". comment part says: two soli...

Re: mixed mri results

Congratulations on lining up the surgery. Before surgery is a critical time, a chance to gain extra chances. We did extra things for surgery that had big benefits and extra credit. . all these will be my homework for the coming weeks! i know you accomplished a great response and i hope to achieve a...

Re: mixed mri results

i said i wouldn't with vital things, but i did end up texting her onc and her surgeon. onc said she "neither understood nor saw" those lesions. surgeon said he hasn't seen them either but we'll look at the scans more carefully monday. and that he still thinks surgery should be given a shot...

Re: mixed mri results

i might have gotten happy prematurely :( i was too focused on notes about the liver and just realized this was also there on the mri report: "2 solid nodular lesions at the left anterior and bladder junction that might be implants" does this mean mom has peritoneal tumors now???? ...why ca...

Re: My husband has passed

Momserati, i'm so so sorry for your loss. he was so young and had a lot more to live. it's so unfair to him, you, your kids and everyone around him. i'm out of meaningful words, so i'll just say that i'm wishing you lots of energies to cope. please let me know if i can be of help in anyway. sending ...

this is so true. i've memorized every single detail and i talk as if we're sharing that common ground. so for tomorrow, i'm preparing a fact sheet for the surgeon so we can remain on the same page.

Re: mixed mri results

ok, so, i met with the onc. and one big lesson is this: don't text your oncologist about vital things; they're human, they're busy, and are not always able to recall specifics about a patient. she totally confused my mom with someone else. (she was talking as if mom still had her primary tumor in pl...

Re: mixed mri results

My husband is on maintenance chemo because of his extensive liver involvement (12 Mets). Yes all the tumors were out after surgery but his oncologist strongly believes Xeloda plus Avastin will help prevent recurrence in this case for the most critical first two to three years after mop up chemo. My...

Re: mixed mri results

Thats good but they are busy and have many patients to review on a daily basis. In the mean time, i will ask for referral or self refer and make my own appointment with that liver surgeon for a surgical consult. In our case, because we consulted with a liver surgeon early, liver surgeon wanted to d...
