Re: What options after chemo no longer effective?

I know nothing about clinical trials but I found this one in Phase 3, concerning IV Vitamin C: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02969681. What do you think? My prior comment was specifically about lab testing chemo susceptibility of tumor samples. I guess the phase 3 trial is a legitimate stu...

Re: Last shot immunotherapy

I can't answer your questions but thanks for the article.
Personally, I don't see any ethical conundrum in giving immunotherapy as a last shot if the patient doesn't have any side effects. I mean, it's not as if you were ruining the last months of his life with chemo...
That's my two cents...

Re: Stage 4 hope to share

You’re focused on food quite a bit, and you’re correct, it can hurt or help a person on chemo. However, I never wanted to eat on FOLFOX, and many people share this problem, if my food were limited, I probably wouldn’t have eaten at all. If he wants an ice cream, let him! There is a lot of good and ...

Re: Stage 4 hope to share

This is so interesting, specially the IV Vitamin C. There are so many studies that explain its benfits to those with a KRAS or a BRAF mutation. There's even a Trial in phase 3 in which some patients get IV vitamin c + their usual protocol.

Best of luck to your brother-in-law!

Hugs,

Paola

I feel exactly the same. I think it's "normal" to have that kind of feeling. We've been waiting for surgery for so long! We just need to try to stay calm (easy to say...). Keep us updated! i hate this new "normal." also, mom might have surgery a bit later planned so she would ha...

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

The reality is that I’m a mom, so I feel like I’m going to do whatever my oncologist tells me is my best shot! If that means more Vectibix, so be it. I know it’s mostly vanity at play - the splitting skin I could address with SuperGlue - so I have to be a big girl and deal with it. I’ve told myself...

Re: Sadness (sorry for the blues)

I don t mean to scary you. I also had an ovarian cyst ghat had been growing while on chemo. The docs decided they want it out. My ovaries left the building. The pathology report came back and it was a net from colon cancer. Hi, there. My ovarian mass was partially biopsied and it wasn't cancer but ...

Re: HAI pump criteria

I had to avoid contact sports (like volleyball), scuba diving, and hot tubs. I would think yoga would be fine, but it's always best to check with the docs first. Juliej Just gotta say ..... except for that one time in Palm Springs ... I have never really considered "hot tubbing" as...

Your mom and I will have surgery the same day! :) I wish I had a laparoscopy: for me it'll be a nice and long laparotomy (cyto-reductive surgery + HIPEC). I wish all the best for your mom. Wish me luck! Hugs, Paola i'm so happy for you Paola!! right now i'm worried sick that something will happen a...
