Re: PIPAC therapy - very promising

Very promising indeed. It was created by professor Raymond in Germany, where it has been used since 2011. Later (2016), it came to France. It's available in Italy, Spain, Argentina, etc. It's a good option for patients too frail for cyto-reductive surgery + HIPEC or for patients with a heavy burden ...

Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

Well, results are in. 4 tumors about 3cm each in the lungs and a newbie in my liver about 2cm. I have a slight wet cough but that could be anything, Cea is now 36. I set up an appointment next Wednesday for FOLFIRI+vectibux with the understanding I might cancel b/c I really don’t want to do it. I’v...

Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

It's a long shot, yes (5%) but if your husband's MSI he could do immunotherapy and get cured. I'm a little hesitant to have faith in the word "cured" at the moment. He was NED for 9 1/2 years essentially considered "cured" which on some reports after 6 years of being NED is cons...

Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

What do you know about your husband's MSS/MSI status? If he's a candidate to immunotherapy, that could solve all of his problems Not even sure what you mean by MSS/MSI. No options were offered to my husband except pallative care Oxaliplatin (IV) and Capecitabine (oral). Said surgery is not an optio...

Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

Well we are back again. My DH was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer Sept 2009. Had surgery removed 1 foot of colon and then has been NED ever since ---- UNTIL a routine xray on his lungs radiologist noted something funky with liver. Well yep its back in full force. He just has a colonoscopy and ...

Re: Any idea the cost for CRS/HIPEC at MSK if insurance not cover out of network?

Hi Paola, I'm so sorry to hear about the unexpected during your surgery. I pray for you to get good response with chemo treatment so you can go back to the OR. From my original tumor, I'm MSS with TMB 16 which my oncologist said I'm not qualified for a clinical trial that takes patients with TMB of...

Re: Any idea the cost for CRS/HIPEC at MSK if insurance not cover out of network?

Hi, Just an update on my CRS/HIPEC. The procedure was 10 hours long. I was in hospital for a week. It's about 3 and half weeks out since the surgery and I'm still in a lots of pain. My PCI at the outset of the procedure was 16 and at the completion of procedure was 1. There are .5 to 1mm fine discr...

Re: What options after chemo no longer effective?

I know nothing about clinical trials but I found this one in Phase 3, concerning IV Vitamin C: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02969681. What do you think? My prior comment was specifically about lab testing chemo susceptibility of tumor samples. I guess the phase 3 trial is a legitimate stu...

Re: Last shot immunotherapy

I can't answer your questions but thanks for the article.
Personally, I don't see any ethical conundrum in giving immunotherapy as a last shot if the patient doesn't have any side effects. I mean, it's not as if you were ruining the last months of his life with chemo...
That's my two cents...

Re: Stage 4 hope to share

You’re focused on food quite a bit, and you’re correct, it can hurt or help a person on chemo. However, I never wanted to eat on FOLFOX, and many people share this problem, if my food were limited, I probably wouldn’t have eaten at all. If he wants an ice cream, let him! There is a lot of good and ...
