Re: total pelvic exenteration

Hello everyone. Now it has been over a year since I posted on here. My friend decided to retire and spend as much time as she has left enjoying her grandkids. She has basically disappeared from my social circle. She posts on FB every now and again, but when I text or message her, she replies with o...

Re: I have just been diagnosed with colon cancer

I can't help with the financial issue (I'm not in the US) but you really need to get tested. Getting tested might change the treatment plan. If you're... MSI: you can do immunotherapy instead of chemotherapy. BRAF+: you can do targeted therapy and later chemo. KRAS+: you can't use Erbitux nor Vectib...

Re: I have just been diagnosed with colon cancer

Hi Thea, I imagine how scared you must feel: we've all been there. However, to answer your question, yes colon cancer that has spread to the liver is treatable and can be cured. We have patients in this board and other boards that have been in remission for years and some of them are considered cure...

Sarah DeBord

Sarah DeBord has left us. I don't know if she was active here (I've never seen her posting here...) but she was certainly a major advocate working for the CCA and Colontown... She was definitely a familiar face in the CRC world and a great blogger... The CCA posted this beautiful tribute on Facebook...

Re: Pathology report - some good news, also unexpressed MSH6

Neither Keytruda nor any other immunotherapy drugs are approved for CRC in France (even for MSI-H folks). However, my oncologist told me her MSI-H patients get access to those drugs through clinical trials... not an ideal situation but better than nothing I guess.

Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi BS,

I know. It's terrible that doctors don't disclose this type of information and the little benefit this (very expensive) drug has.

We should be aware of the risks...

Re: Pathology report - some good news, also unexpressed MSH6

Hi. I second what CRguy said: colon cancer can bypass the liver and go straight to the lungs. Yes, it's less likely to act this way and yes, rectal cancers tend to do this more often than cancers in the colon. But don't forget this wise observation: "Cancer does whatever it wants." As for ...

Re: FDA Approved Keytruda for MSS Tumors w/ TMB of 10+!!!

Hi Cynthia,

I've been following your "journey" and I'm glad you're getting such extraordinary results from Keytruda.

Just a small question: was your primary tumor right-sided or left-sided?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen anything...
I follow several oncologists and advocates on Twitter... and I'm in several FB groups... Nothing there.

Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi Kelly, I'm so terribly sorry for what you're going through... There are really no words for making it better. I'll just say that Avastin is a nasty drug. I know it's a very popular drug in the US and continental Europe but its side effects can be devastating. I personally developped a fistula tha...

Re: No longer NED- back in right ovary

Hi Brenda, I've never heard such a thing! I had a met to one ovary and a total hysterectomy with HIPEC. I know at least 4 other women with mets to ovaries and in each case they were succesfully removed. Don't expect chemo to work on the ovaries though and push for surgery ASAP. Those buggers can gro...

Re: Hipec post op pain

Hi. I'm sorry that your father's in pain. I had a very long and involved cyto-reductive surgery + Hipec... The post-op pain was bad but I had a morphine pump that delivered morphine continously + a button to press to have an immediate dose... Does your father have something like that? He should real...
