Re: Gee it’s quiet here huh…

Howdy strangers! All is going well in my neck of the woods. Nicholas will be *5* in March. He starts school this fall. Idk what I'm going to do with myself. And to think, at one point we didn't think either of us would survive to even meet. Time is flying by and I'm savoring every minute of it. The ...

Re: Just checking in..Hi yall!

Stu, Nicholas just turned *3*, he's so grown! So in an interesting turn of events, I am now a YEARLY patient! All my labs are fine, CEA is 1.7 and I'm pretty much just rolling around like stage iv cancer happened to someone else. There are no plans to ever release me, not at a 5 or 10 ...

Re: Just checking in..Hi yall!

So last monday was my appointment, however 10min before I got to the hospital (it's a 2hr drive) they called and rescheduled my labs and doctor visit. Still had the CT. Everything is all clear, no signs of any reoccurrence. I go tomorrow afternoon for labs and to see what the oncologist wants to do ...

Just checking in..Hi yall!

35 days from now I'll have scans, bloodwork and a visit with the oncologist. SO MUCH has happened since the last time I was there in September. Let's see... Lost 30 lbs. Gained a son in law. Gained a granddaughter. (two different kids blessed me with those additions) We now have goats, a cow and a b...

They gave me another 6 months!

So, they think I'll live until my next appointment in March. I don't have my CT report yet, but the oncologist looked at the images and didn't see anything that looked out of place. Labs are all fine, CEA is 2. Things are going well in this neck of the woods. I'm so thankful to still be here. ...

Re: NED: Let's hope third time is a charm!

Gina!!!!!! I'm currently sitting on the porch, drinking a beer, watching the kids play on the swing set we built over the last two days. And here I thought my day just couldn't get any better! I'm thrilled that you find yourself in NEDville. How about you stay there for good, okay? I get a MRI, labs...

Re: Moving to every 6 months, port removal

Well. I still have my port. IN A JAR!!!!! The nurse asked me today if I wanted to keep it. Heck yeah I do. It was super easy, the nurse marveled at my journey. I told her I didn't do anything remarkable, just showed up for chemo and resection! Came home and made a delicious roasted tomatillo salsa. ...

Moving to every 6 months, port removal

Omg yall. Just left the oncologist. He's waiting on the report from the radiologist but on the assumption there wasn't anything he missed when he looked at it, I'm going every six months instead of 3! AND he said we could take out my port too!   This feels like such a step in t...

Re: 1 year clear from stage IV

Rob!! I'm right there with you buddy! Last chemo was 12/23 of last year. Nothing but clear ct scans, scopes and labs for me. They were worried I have something in my chest but it's assumed to be thymic rebound. I was told that if my scans and labs are clear in March I can move to 6 month appointment...
